IMO Tyson really got himself up for today

time for the young lads to make their name at the club and we seen with D-Mac, Danger, Douglas and Sloane today that the club is in good hands

I am so proud of both Tyson and the rest of the group to get up for today's game and send him off in the best way possible. Everyone in the club would be grinning from ear to ear tonight and for good reason. They gave everything they had in this game and despite a terrible season and a 20-man bench, were still able to overcome one of the strongest teams in the league. Absolutely fantastic effort.

That's what they should do every week.

Made me laugh when the AM commentators suggested that we retire McLeod, Burton, Doughty and then bring back Jamesoin (he was on commentating).....in the next few weeks so that we finish the year off with a few more wins :p

:)

Brilliant game by him and all.. if only he'd played like that for the first 9 rounds!!

Will be missed champion of the club.

As for the game as whole.. THAT'S what we expect of our boys.. hopefully we can keep it.

A Four quarter effort to send him off as he deserved!! Lets take our lead from Farnham tho...
Tyson needs to farewell Tassie! Play him next week, final game at Launceston!!
Then round 15 to farewell Subiaco, and the MCG in round 18 ,and the Gabba in round 20!
Pencil those games in as wins!!!;)

Best on ground in my opinion. I don't know why his retiring, his still very good. He should play on til the end of the season. You guys can still make the finals.

Because the game has passed him by and he has been playing pretty crap all season, likely the only reason he played well yesterday was because he knew he didn't have to get up for a game next week. He gave it everything he had and he played very well. But he wouldn't be able to do that consecutively.

At once stage towards the end of the 3rd quater he was running to the bench for a rest and could hardly get into a gallop, was really struggling and would have been running on pure emotion for the last quarter.

Agree, Tyson was always going to get himself up for this game, but I think its a good note to retire on. For mine, all year he's looked like a guy who just hasn't quite had the drive to get himself up week in week out, especially given our form this season.

Hey guys,

Just found an interesting little stat about Tyson Edwards...

Dunno if its been said or not..... I had a feeling after the game that the score looked a bit familiar for an Adelaide game v Freo so I looked it up....

Round 12, 1995 was Tyson Edwards 2nd game.

Adelaide scored 16.9.105 Vs Fremantle @ AAMI

Round 11, 2010 was Tyson Edwards 321st and final game.

Adelaide scored 16.9.105 vs Fremantle @ AAMI

He didn't play like a retiring player last night. It's crazy we will not see him out there in Crows colors again. :(

No its not. He gave his all yesterday knowing there was no tomorrow but lets be realistic for most of the year he has struggled with his reaction times and his judgement.

Most players don't get the opportunity to go out like he has.

cue the x-files music..

So, the old guy who just got 32 possessions, two goals and is fit and firing is no longer playing, but the three old guys who have just gone in for knee surgery and are out of action are still playing?

Tongue firmly planted :)

Great game Tyson. You've gone out with honour and dignity. Your children, clubmates and team supporters will always remember your last game. You're a winner. Best wishes for your next endeavours. :thumbsu:
