Give an example of the sort of player - within reason.

NICK STEVENS

If we can trade our first 3 picks and Fiora for Stevens and their 2nd and 3rd...kinda like the johnno/torns deal.

Hey ! It's an offer !

They end up with 2 first rounders. And a better second and third than they started with. And Fiora would be a gun for them. He'd be in a club back home where his confidence would develop faster than at Tigerland.

Meanwhile we need to keep all our talls and add to them ...maybe if the Stevens thing gets more complicated we could work Morgan and Ackland into the deal.

We should swap Hilton for a tall...Pettifer for a tall....Bowden for somone.

Upgrade Moore. A tall hack that will never play beats a small hack that will never play ! And he might just work. Although if he was any chance he'd be on the list already.

Pick the best available kid when it's our turn to pick.

Overall a couple of tough midfielders, couple of KP and a ruckman.

Key postions will be tough to trade for as most clubs are after them so more likely through the draft. Another inside midfielder to help Coughlan would also be advisable.

No more specialist forward pockets  .
Not now with the mosquito fleet working out of the goalsquare.

For a few minutes there in the second term I thought Marty and Krak were going to become the bash brothers.

I'd go for a CHB who plays CHF as well, not to mention who can dabble in the ruck, is a leader, not prone to injury - not many of them i guess.

Okay seriously, i'd use richo and/or Bowden as trade bait for a key defender. I think Gasper left a big hole there this year and i think we've asked a lot of Andy and Zantuck to play tall this year when they're not quite there, despite a pretty good job IMHO.

We've picked up a million and one midfielders/short people over the past couple of years and unless they're gonna develop them properly, just wasted picks.

Basically, i wouldn't have a clue - there's holes everywhere. Although Dutchy coming good last couple of games has eased some pressure and hopefully they can develop some sort of forward structure around him and the 3 muskateers who can rotate in the midfield, although worried against a better opposition.

I just reckon quality trades for key positions and draft for the rest.

Pity Vardy hasn't stood up for this position. I liked the idea of another Royce running in tiger colours. :(

spud won't play him...

vardy marked strongly and goaled early in the essendon game...he can play...had a go against west coast

but spud won't let him out there

I think vardy is really no more than a back up tall (and with our list we need them).

With Dutchy showing that he could be a viable forward option and Richo maintaining his current role. Staff and otto rucking, gaspar down back I can only see vardy getting a game when one or another is injured.

He is tough but has limited ability (but hey lots of footballers have that trait). Schultz is still a long term project - he showed he can kick a goal om saturday and also showed a nice piece of judgement with the few poss. he had.

If we retained him and he has happy to play for Coburg and realise that he might only get a handful of games a year then hopefully his payment would reflect that - that is assuming he does not get any better and i think what you see is what you get with Royce.

He reminds me of a slightly taller version of Andy Goodwin (not as crazy though).

has schulz been tried at chb down at coburg this year? hes got size, still looks extremely raw but showed a few glimpses on sat night, i wonder if he could develop into a chb?

dutchy playing out of the goal square certainly straightens us up, on aw yeserday wallace was saying the same, saying hes an orthodox player who the small forwards know what hes going to do and subsequently can read the play and get into the game, whereas with richo playing out of the square, they dont know his strategy and his pattern simply b/c he doesnt have 1, they cant adjust/read to richo.........very good observation - so even if dutchy doesnt kick a bag every week, our structure would be infinitely better up forward and youd find we'll kick goals easier.
