I used to (used to) rate Schell.

He used to take some nice pack marks, and that night against the Lions he towelled up Mal Michael and kicked 4 goals.

I thought if he put some bulk on him he'd be a good full-forward. Unfortunately, that never happened.
LOL.

He only played 2 decent games for Adelaide in his time here. Against Sydney when he took 7 marks at CHF and kicked a goal and that game against Brisbane.

Was always soft, didn't chase, had no ground level skills at all and had very poor awareness.

Bottom line: A deadset DUD.

If I remember correctly, Perrie took twice as many contested marks than any other AFC player this year.

Contested Marks

Perrie 31
McGregor 25
Carey 20

Total Marks

Perrie 115
Edwards 96
Johncock 95

Compare this to Brisbane

Contested Marks

Brown 44
Lynch 39
Leppitsch 27

Total marks

Bradshaw 127
Leppitsch 126
Brown 126
Lappin 124

We need to hold more marks and keep our forwards injury free in 2004. Tough ask, but we have got to improve in this area.

Man thats scary. We are miles behind as far as marks are concerned. McGregor is trailing Leppitsch by 2 (contested marks)which is not bad considering we are talking about best CHB in the comp. The overall marking ability of our squad in MILES behind Brisbane. At least we adressed this in the draft with Watts and possibly Krueger.

If anything Stiffy, I think you've been too kind. ;)

He used up his quota in the pre-season game. He did well that night.
However, that doesn't count. :D

I stand corrected on that score, but it does show his ability to grab hold of the pill - that's a valuable talent in a team that is wanting a bit in this regard

Pity he didnt do it in SHOWDOWN 14:rolleyes:

Jesus you're real picky assholes. So what if he had a dud game in Showdown 14? That doesn't mean the side should lose, because no side should be reliant on one player.

Why don't you get equally stuck into Goodwin, or McLeod, or Ricciuto, or everyone's favourite little sh|t Reilly when they have bad games?

Perrie cops way too much crap from some of you stuck up w@nkers. He tried very hard to hold together our struggling forward line this year, maybe you should shut the hell up and cut him a break until you could do a better job.

FFS.

Apart from your bit about Roo, I agree with you sentiments. We would have been in deep poo if Perrie hadn't had a decent year & improved like he did in 2003.

Oh come on! Roo had one or two off games! Like the first Showdown...where he tried brawn over brain to a bad result...

No footballer is perfect & should be allowed a quota of few poor games. If everyone at the Crows (or even just Macca & Goody) played like Roo, we would have had a better year!

We also would have had no Brownlow, cos they would steal votes off each other!

I have this argument with my Dad all the times - he has this theory that they get paid big $$ so they should never ever have a bad game  - needless to say I don't agree!

You'd like it to be true though.

Put it this way: I agree with that sentiment if the player isn't putting in 100%. If they are just having a bad day, but putting in 100%, you can't complain. But if they're having a bad day because they AREN'T putting in 100%, then they deserve to be ridiculed, abused and shellacked.

Would have nice if he could of marked the ball though he dropped about 5 marks within kicking distance and then what happened?????? The ball got turned over and resulted in a Port goal:rolleyes:

Obviously you weren't around when Goodwin couldn't do a thing right by anybody on this board basically every single week after coming back from his injury.
