i cane across this on a different site lastweek and thought it would be funny to post some of the random moments from commentary tracks.

Ben Affleck making fun of Michael Bay on the Armageddon commentary

And Michael Bay being Michael Bay about space suits

Tom Clancy on the Sum of all fears. talking about stealth

Robert Pattinson doing commentary on any of the Twilight movies is comedy gold. Nobody hates those movies more than Robert Pattinson.

Still not worth watching Twilight,

I don't listen to the commentaries as often as I used to and whether or not a dvd had a commentary would be a factor in whether I purchased it or not (certainly if it was a new movie that didn't include one I would not buy it until it dropped in price).

My two favourite commentary tracks come from

Superman and Robocop. Both are amazing insights into amazing films :).

Lol, that Mickey Rooney commentary is gold.

I wish someone would put him and Gary Busey in a movie together just to get them in a booth together to record the best commentary of all time. The movie should also be like a Syfy type bad movie.

Hands down the best dvd commentary is Superbad. Half the cast are in NY (cera, rogan, the majority of them) while in LA Hill and Judd Apatow and his daughter while simultaneously watching and discussing the movie.

Of course the cast in NY are swearing and laughing and cracking jokes, but Hill can't because he's not allowed to swear around Apatow's kid. Eventually Apatow cracks the shits mid movie and stoms out due to hills innapripriate language. Comedy gold.

Paul Verhoeven is always great to listen to. A shame he's never done a track for Showgirls.

John Carpenter and Kurt Russell with all their films. They're a lot of fun.

Kurt Russell, Bob Gale & Zemeckis track in Used Cars.

Battlefield Earth where the filmmakers are oblivious to how terrible their movie is.

The Love Bug one gets strangely awkward near the end where Dean Jones and Buddy Hackett are together and Michele Lee is sliced in from a separate sitting. Hackett goes off on tangents but near the end he's getting bit borderline saying things about the main villains: 'They are so awful, I hope they get killed'. Their session finishes up soon after and there's only Michele Lee for the last 30 minutes. It's like there were things said in that last 30 minutes between Jones and Hackett that Disney felt weren't appropriate for the kids listening.

I've got to listen to that Mickey Rooney one lol

cannibal the musical hands down the funniest. the south park guys basically do shots and are a mess by the end and bag their own movie so much.

great movie too

Watched that Mickey Rooney Twilight Zone one in full last night. I don't know how they even convinced him to agree to it. Must have been some money involved only to come out and keep saying he doesn't remember any of it lol. He was just completely uncooperative the whole way through and came across as having all the intelligence of a bag of hair.

Ocean's Eleven Commentary - Think it had Matt Damon, Andy Garcia and Brad Pitt talking in it.

They were really quite funny, talking about the other cast members (Clooney in particular) and random stories about what happened on set.

It's the only commentary I've ever watched which is strange because I still remember liking it and thinking I should try and watch other commentaries. :drunk:
