Yeah, read that awhil back. Love AV Club. Always watch a couple of episodes of a show and then go read the reviews and just see what the general consensus is.

I find they mark pretty hard. Quite often I'm watching an episode of Community and actually lolling regularly(which makes it close to an A- in my book without any consideration for characterisation or narrative) and they'll give it a B because the A and B plots didn't dovetail nicely enough for them or some shit.

NBC may as well keep Community. They're coming 4th of the majors and bringing back Community will engender more goodwill and publicity than killing it off will.

They are culture snobs (in a good way). Only thing that's ever gotten an A+ on that site are two episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm. (Which is fair, because it's Larry David.)

But yes, amazing site. I think their ratings are spot on.


I think NBC will keep it for one more year, because since no one watches shit on that network anymore, they like critical acclaim. Community, Parks & Rec and occasionally 30 Rock give it an edge.

All the good stuff is on FX and AMC. Showtime and HBO still give us some decent shows every now and then.

I thought it was a pretty weak episode...I'm not a big Shirley fan (think she's rather dull) so maybe that had something to do with it.

The other storyline just reeked of bringing up things fans loved in the past to make them happy, like the whole Abed-Batman gimmick. Felt recycled and...a bit lame.

Love the show, just not this episode!

Just watched all the episodes of Community and I love it. It's definetly staled a bit heading into Season 3, mainly because apart from Troy and Abed all the characters seem to be major d*cks.

And can someone tell me how Community is fairing against other shows in it's timeslot? I don't know all the facts on why Community could be cancelled but heard it's up against 30 Rock and watched the first 3 episodes and atm doesn't have sh*t on Community.

The first paintball episode, Modern Warfare, will always be the best episode I've ever seen.
