I enjoyed them for what they were, but I've been watching old seasons on Stan and I do miss the old chemistry...will keep on watching and see how they go.

I smashed all 5 seasons on Stan in prep for S6. You can really feel the change mid-late Season 3 where it just loses its charm.

I went into it expecting my reaction to be on the spectrum from mildly disappointed to massively disappointed, so I guess the fact I wasn't underwhelmed at all and actually enjoyed the episodes is a massive relief. I mean, it's still not a patch on earlier seasons and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen the show before, but it was much better than it could've been.

I preferred the opening episode more though, it seemed to have more of the elements that made Community unique and special, even though it is noticeably lacking three core characters. The acid test will be how well the two new characters integrate into the group. Hopefully better than Mike from BB (I can't even remember the character's name) did last season.

PS - Shirley has lost a stack of weight!

Haha nice, that guy was one of the business moguls from Parks and Rec IIRC.
Or more importantly, Rafi from The League.

Pretty happy with the first two eps. It's never going to be what it was in the first three seasons, but it still got a fair few laughs out of me.

The promo for Shirley's spinoff probably the highlight so far. Oh, and Abed listing out continuity errors. "Jeff said he saw a Pierce hologram last year, but none of us have seen it. And what happened to that girl I was dating?"

Season six is surprisingly refreshing. I wonder what the last two seasons would have been like if taking this show off of NBC was an option then instead of firing Harmon. There is something fascinating about watching a show when it has reached - and exceeded - its breaking point and has nothing left to lose.

Also, this season looks better than any of the previous four. The colours no longer look as cartoony and instead more muted, less "cheap" and as if they're filming outdoors again. Just a shame their cast has depleted to this point, the only negative.

Third episode is up

Chang: "Interesting. When were you going to share the whole truth about this and not just the parts that suit you?"

Annie: "What?"

Chang: (reading from email) "PS I was glad to hear Brenda's doing better! Huh? Huh?!"

Everyone: stunned silence.

This exchange had me rofling.

The City College ad and Abed's Ruffles attack ad were hilarious, so was the whole message conversation between the Dean and "Jeffrey".

Paget Brewster's character seems to be fitting in well. Is Keith David going to be a regular?

I will make a bold statement and say that was the best episode since season three. And wow, so that would be three years ago now.
