What do we have that is better than the rest of the league

3 genuine power forwards.

Griff and Tyrones development has meant that Jack can play in what I believe is his best position , half forward flank. No one in the league can go with him in the air and on the ground. His mercurial game sense and football ability can be shown for all to see now. Absolutely incredible footballer with sublime skill and poise.

Versatility.

Cotchin, Dusty, Lids, Grigg, Edwards are all goal kicking midfielders, this gives them all a rest and allows us to play them on the ground without burning them up.

Elite endurance

We are a lot quicker than last year
Blair and the football department at last have realized we needed speed and getting Menadue, Hunt and Menadue in the team has changed the dynamics of our ball movement

Bringing in Mcintosh and Hunt, to add to Martin, Cotch, Lids Morris as well as Menadue

What we need is a good run with injury and to get Conca Lambert and Foley back to provide us with depth.

Cotchin, Lids, Dusty gives us something few other clubs have. To be able to always have 1 of these 3 in the forward line while having the other 2 providing class through the midfield is second to none. All 3 are A graders no doubt, I don't care what anyone has to say. Pure class and creativity all 3.

You can probably add Edwards to the group now TBH. Our midfield is extremely dangerous with his creativity in there. His handballs to advantage still shock me every game. He has most creative hands in the comp.

tribe's bullish outlook, is quite unique too. i always thought we were outclassed by north every year, and are still a bit behind.

where i see our comparative advantage, it is all in the back office, all the team Benny Gale has assembled that sees the place given a significant degree of stability and class behind the scenes. As much as supporters wish to project a science on the coaching and recruiting, a randomness of variables will always prevail, but what you can achieve, you can get the operations off the field to their optimum, so when the stars align with the random bestowment occurs, the off-the-field operations give it every opportunity to fulfill the potential.

Three genuine ruckmen and three genuine key forwards who are good below their knees is a huge asset. The midfielder/small forward versatility is also a huge advantage other teams would die for. A settled big bodied defense is probably our biggest asset this year compared to other years and our outside run and endurance makes a massive difference to our defense with B. Ellis dropping back to help and C.Ellis, McIntosh & Hunt running up and down the wings.

You couldn't bring Newman, Foley, Arnot, Lloyd, Gordan or Astbury into the team without sacrificing our run which would effect both our defense and offense.

Our biggest comparative advantage (Ricardian economics is back in the AFL!!) is really the big guys. Others have good midfields etc. But three talls that are mobile, good skills and powerful in the air = unique.

Still think Griffiths and Vickery are only at half mast at the moment. If they have the drive to improve they'll be enviable weapons but at this stage they're almost always 1 quarter wonders. I have high hopes for both and they're working beautifully in sync at the moment which is half the battle. Good signs.

I agree. At some stage I expect one or both will tear a game/s apart. They both are just one big game away from a huge confidence boost.

Sent from my brain using ESP.

They're not getting in each others way, like they did last season.

The Richmond Way!

We've won 15 of our last 20, and only had like 1 game with the 3 talls without them being injured. It might become a comparative advantage, but we have other advantages that can explain the last 12 months of football.

I think it's our value system (dubbed "The Richmond Way" by Dimma). It started out as "winning behaviours" in Dimma's first two seasons. It developed into doing all the little things right and meeting shared expectations everytime they wear the jumper (eg. Houli and Grigg will go when it's their turn...).

To me, Hardwick's unwavering ability to show faith in his players and make them believe and live and breath by certain standards is an asset that gets everyone playing for the team. Not all clubs can say they do this, and we take it for granted sometimes.
