Computer - No Sound

I recently had my motherboard replaced and everything seems fine, except there is no sound on my computer. The speakers are plugged in correctly, so I'm not sure what's wrong.

Does anyone know what I could do to fix this?

Im no computer expert, and ive had the same problem of no sound, i think because of the sound drivers not being installed.

im pretty sure you downloaded the realtek ac97 audio codec, i think thats what i did

Yeh definately the sound drivers,

I had a similar problem with my new computer a while ago.

You'll have to find out which model motherboard youve currently got installed, then use google to find the manufacturers website and then search for the exact same model from the links provided in there website and in there should be a selection of drivers including those for sound, download and then run the file to install the drivers, might need to reset afterwards to take effect, but that should hopefully do the trick. I have an MSI motherboard. I'm doing a live update now, but it's taking forever!

jsut be careful when playing around with drivers
make sure u download and install the right one

Well I downloaded the correct driver, but when I try to install it I get an error message.



I guess I'll be calling the computer guy tomorrow.

I originally had a similar issue as well a while back.

It could be that the new sound driver isn't installing over the old one. You may have to get into control panel > admin tools > computer management
from there select device manager, then scroll down to sound,video and game controllers and expand that area.

Somewhere in there should most probably be ur old sound driver, should be named MSI something im guessing, uninstall it, and then run the install for the new one. That should hopefully do the trick.
