Ok so I'm pretty much computer illiterate and some w***er virus has been invading my computer for the past 24 hours .. it's called "Winpc Antivirus" .. I looked it up and apparently it's a "rogue and corrupt security tool" which is a fake antivirus and should be deleted immediately. It took me about 30 minutes to get into this website because this "winpc antivirus" doesn't let me access a site that may help me get rid of it, I've been diverted to myspace, facebook and youtube so far.

The question is, has anybody else had this issue and if so, what did you do? So far I've downloaded 3 spyware thingos that supposedly get rid of this ****er, but so far none of the 3 are working.

Help would be appreciated as my computer is slowly ****ing up!

What Anti Virus are you using?

Some of these little buggers cling to the operating system so after running a scan, quarantining/deleting the infection they will have a hidden registry entry the will execute again on bootup.

I would recommend performing a scan and delete in safe mode with command prompt which can perform a sweep without operating system services started (on reboot) which will get rid of the bastard once and for all.

Computer Viruses are a serious business. It is of a matter of the utmost importance to delete system32 as soon as possible...

Malwarebytes should kill it
http://www.malwarebytes.org/

I downloaded this and it is not working.

I have just blocked the WinPc.com website after following about 2 pages of instructions and so far no pop-ups or anything :thumbsu: However the WinPc icon is still there which I do not like that much
