It doesn't mean anything for Hartley. Hartley is injured and wouldn't have been in consideration for promotion at this time. However he's a KP sized, quick, athletic defender and if he makes the grade in the VFL he'll be retained. His "type" don't grow on trees.
It has to mean something because a young similar player has just taken his spot and pushed him further down the pecking order
Hartley at the moment would be my first person cut from the list
I would have Yagmoor ahead of being De-Listed then Hartley. Hartley looked good last season Pre-Shoulder Injury
With Maxwell retiring in the near future, doesn't hurt to keep a tall mobile defender on the list...

I hope Yagmoor can come good because his kicking is pretty good, so long as it stays okay under heat.
He was already on our NSW Scholarship list when he beat Patton.I think Yagmoor has shown FAR more than Hartley. Hartley seems to have a fairly dodgy shoulder and when he has played hasn't done too much. Was essentially drafted off 1 performance on patton
Correct but we already had him before he beat Patton. If you honestly think we drafted him just because he beat Patton, well.....We don't have to draft anyone on our NSW scholarship list

I think Peter's problem is not his kicking but lack of physicality. You need more than a decent kick to make it at afl.True or myth?
He does do some great passes, but he does more than his fair share of shockers from what i've seen

As for putting him in the gun now because of shoulder probs in the last 12 months, maybe Benny Broomhead might be starting to shit himself as you'll be calling for his head next.
I mean he was only drafted of 12 or so games & is now injured for at least 1/3 of his first season. Not only that he's shown nothing to this point. Delist I say!!
By the way how did Hartley get in the gun before JT??
.True or myth?

No I'm not a sycophant but I don't write players off just because of injury. Obviously when it gets to a situation like Ruzza (poor ole Ruzza) or Dicky then you have to bite the bullet. There were numerous things in reference to the fact he got drafted largely on his performance against patton, obviously it wasn't the only reason he was drafted(he has some good attributes and was VERY cheap to pickup ect).
Some of his other performances in the under 18 championships were nothing to crow about and i'm fairly sure he wasn't drafted based on his performance playing for a local NSW footy team or his school.
Over a year of shoulder problems from a rookie list player vs an 8-10 week illness layoff to a potential future gun and pick 20... yes i see how their situations are the same and thus should be treated the same.
Three players in the gun in my opinion are JT yagmoor and hartley , all need to impress this season to keep their small chance of a successful career alive.
Maybe it's easier for you to handle if everyone just mindlessly says all of collingwoods young players are going to be stars
Exactly, not saying he's the man but it won't be long before clubs look for designated kickers, in fact I'd suggest this will become part of our vernacular in the not too distant future. There's no truth about it or myth.
What you can say is that in a training environment, his kicking is very very good, but in the game situation (a small sample I might add) his skills have not levelled up to his capacity.
If he can acclimatise to AFL pressure, he would be a great asset in terms of his kicking. I'm hopeful because it's a need for us.

N.Brown is travelling nicely, didn't you want him gone because of his knees & also because of his brothers too.
Hartley should not be put in this category yet. Also I think he has shown a bit in his few games (only saw one myself) & is worth persisting with ATM. He's not a star but I think he has quite good shut down capabilities.
If talking about spots on the list at the end of the year, I'd be more likely to say list movement will be created by retirements more than delistings.
However, it is far too EARLY to be making these calls, IMO.
