Some imbecile who shall remain nameless (but bears a striking resemblance to myself!) noted on his Facebook status last week that Franklin should play permanent wing from now on due to his inaccuracy......

I should have learnt from the plaque that used to hang in my Granparents kitchen: "it is better to keep your mouth closed and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt".

Now that he's done it, the 10 goal milestone seems almost inevitible, but it took a lot longer than I imagined after he booted 9 against Essendon in 2007. I just hope he likes the taste and wants to do it again, and again .... etc.

There's no more exhilarating sight in football than Buddy kicking goals.

When is national buddy day? i was thinking last week that buddy would dominate on buddy day or close to so people could use it as a joke

so we had 2 days worth of national buddy day,,, bootiful. Is this not the best day of AFL footy this season for the Hawks?

Buddy breaks his goal kicking record, 100+ point win, and by the look of things Carlton and Essendon are going to lose too.. cant get much better then that.. (Ill withdraw my statment if both Carlton and Essendon come back and win.. Espically Essendon as i know how much you guys hate them).. wot a day

Dare i say today is the Real national BuddyDay ? for hawks fans at least..

National Buddy Day
It was National Buddy Day in Australia - a day for schoolchildren to celebrate friendship

Nice one, Buddy, loved it yesterday, took me back to the days when the forwards kicked bags week in week out.

But 13 is something special in today's footy, so it absolutely made my day.

One day we will see him bag 19, hopefully 20, I can see it in my tea leaves.

Was great to see him play forward and my god did he relish the opportunity. What a pleasure it was to watch him do his thing.

As Buddy is an immense confidence player, it was a thing of beauty to see him 'switch-on' once he had about his third goal. You just saw him beginning to think "right... I can take anyone of these guys to the cleaners, I'm invincible today and I can pull off anything" - and he certainly did, every time the ball was entering our forward 50, he was pencilling himself in for another.

I sincerely hope he stays up in the forward line all game, for the rest of the season and can have more of these moments. Once he gets his tail up, there's not a defender out there who can stop him.

We are very blessed to have this bloke in our colours. It's a big if, but if Clarko plays him where he is allowed to be instinctive like he was yesterday, we could see something very very special.

Doesn't get much better!

To kick 10+ in the modern game is a huge achievement.
