Sorry to intrude on your board.I just wanted to congratulate your club.

I was doing some research for a Uni Assignment this morning, and I spoke to your player development manager.What a delightful gentleman he was.

You appear to actually care about your commodity in the player.The whole respect and trust issue was paramount.Amazing to listen to him.You feel that the whole players well being is paramount to his footy career.

Well done.A very very professionally run club.

Western Bulldogs, were like you guys.Lots of positive individual player specific stuff.Seemed terrific.
Essendon were great as well.

West Coast refused , plain rude.

North said they had no player development person, and were rude to boot.

Fremantle were like you guys.Seemed to have player specific stuff.

I liked you Initial player orientation program and the parent involvement.The 1st year programe, down to teaching them how to clean.So cute.makes you realise how young the guys are.

NRL.

The Cowboys and Broncos were similar to your guys.
realise that the players are their most important commodity,and having a toal whole happy player,makes a better footy player.

South Sydney Bunnies, had no clue.Their Footy Manager was a joke.Talked about money management and stuff. No individual needs catered for.Only have a few doing small business training, not encouraged to do any training for future.

Thats okay.

I was so impressed with the attitude of this guy and the whole club Player Welfare structure compared to every other club I spoke to, you guys were head and shoulders above the Doggies and Freo, who were above the rest.

As for the NRL, they have a lot to learn really.

Hehehe, I wouldn't judge a football club based on which receptionist you speak to. All football clubs have a player welfare manager. Due to Daniel Daly's promotion last year she may not have been aware who the new player welfare manager is.

Daniel Daly was our player welfare manager for 2003-2006 but was promoted to assistant coach at the end of last year. I can't remember who has been given that position now, you should call back and probably should speak to Daniel Daly if you want any kind of informed opinion on what has been done over the last few years.

Not a budget constraint, I think we have a budgeted increase to the spending on the football department by over $1 million for 2007 and we had a player welfare manager in previous years.
