I kept saying to my the annoyance of my cousin (a E-Girl supporter).."geez, Thornton almost looks like an AFL player now" LOL

I reckon he played fantastically and if he continues, I think he should play up toward the forward more often :thumbsu:

Yes he had a good game today.

It suits his game as he has always looked to play on quickly and when he's between 35-70 metres out he focuses on the goals rather than trying to be slick.

Good move by the coaches to put him forward.

Wirrpanda had about 7 possessions midway through the first quarter but Scottie turned it around and was good from then on in.

Duffman was good too. :thumbsu:

Its become very handy that we've got Tarrant, McPharlane, Dodd and Grover that can play both short or tall for us. It releases both Hayden and Thornton.

Scotty had 18 poss today, with a whopping 94% efficiency!!!

Good stuff from Thornton, like i said last week he has improved although i still think bad WAFL form shouldnt get you an AFL spot obviously the selectors know more than me :(

I thought they changed that match up after Wirra dominated??? maybe i missed it as i was watching on TV?

Onya Scotty. Good to see you're repaying the faith that the coaching staff (and I) placed in you last week.:thumbsu:;)

Scotty was great following on his solid game against Sydney. Well worthy of a vote or two - but I didn't give him one as we had so many good players in this game.

Wirra was hardly sighted after the 1st quarter

Duffman was good too. :thumbsu:

De Boer played on Wirra after half-time [at least for the 3rd quarter, not sure about last]

However, Albino played a good game. Took a very good mark too [for his 2nd goal]. :thumbsu:

He was very handy today, I think his defensive work is important to our forward line plus he's slotting them between the big sticks as well. He may have finally found his niche, though it will be interesting to see what happens when Mayne comes back.

The rash is 194 cm which is 6 cm taller than Mayne and 8 cm taller than Dessie so he could become a tall forward and put another nail in Murphy's coffin. He doesn't really need to specialise as a defensive forward.

Mayne IN
Murphy OUT
Dessie ????

Mayne and Thornton both playing forward.

Works for me :)

There's a toss-pot weagle supporter (tautology, I know) on the main board, replying to a Freo supporter of great taste, high intelligence and in possession of a rapier like wit (yes - there's another tautology), saying that The Gret White Flash didn't beat Hack-Masten in two one-on-ones, cos both times they were two-on-ones...

I asked him if he might like to reconsider his position on that? ;)

:D :D :D

I was seriously starting to think Scotty's best days were behind him, since his comeback from injury. Glad to have been proved wrong, keep up the great work, you can prove me wrong like that anytime.
