Top thread Peejay! Glad to see someone on this board focusing on what will hopefully be a very positive aspect of tomorrow's match-up against the cattery. Am always keen to see how the new faces go wearing the yellow & black.

Much like the way I enjoyed watching Cotchin in his first game against the cats in the wet last year, I look forward to watching all 3 of tomorrow's debutants.

If history has shown us anything, a don't argue on Scarlett by one of these first gamers is not out of the question. Can't wait to see Cotchin back in the lineup... once he is over his injury of course.

Good luck to the lads, All 3 of these kids have a lot of potential, I am sure they will have great futures ahead of them in the mighty yellow and black. :thumbsu:

Rance , Nahas and Hislop, you have earnt the right to represent our beloved club. Make every post a winner and congratulations.

I've got a good feeling about nahas,he's going to be a little gem.:)

Great Thread Peejay , it's very easy to forget such occassions with the past weeks happenings. Be sure to do the same in round 3 or 4 when Andy Collins debuts.

Go Tigers for Saturday

Excited to see them all play, all add something we need.
Particulary excited about Rance, been a long time coming for this one, will be a champ and a future leader at the club

Hopefully Tomahawk doesn't do too much tomorrow and the backline is solid.
Whats the forecast for tomorrow?

Good luck Tigers!

Hopefully Gus, Nahas and Rance all stand up and show our senior players how to go about it :)

Hislop Mk II: A very different man
AFL BY MARTIN AGATYN

FORMER Burnie footballer Tom Hislop has been given something few AFL footballers get - a second chance at the big time.

Hislop, 18, who played seven games with Essendon last year before being de-listed, was picked up by Richmond and will make his debut with the Tigers against Geelong today.

Ironically, his Essendon debut was also against the Cats.

Hislop's parents Ray and Karen, and brothers Zachary and Caleb, will be flown over by the club for today's special occasion. Another brother, Jacob, attending university in Melbourne and playing with the Tigers' VFL affiliate Coburg, will also be there.

Ray Hislop said the whole family was thrilled for his son.

"Thomas is like any 18-year-old - they make mistakes," he said.

"He's had a few off-field issues and they're all in the past now.

"He's fully aware of the fact he has been given a second chance and he's determined to make the most of it. He's worked very hard to get this opportunity."

"Richmond have been very helpful and he's matured a lot since he's been there - we have really noticed the difference," he said.

Hislop said he was not surprised to be left out for round one.

"I was obviously disappointed to miss the Carlton game, as it had been a long summer," he said.

"I got a pretty good pre-season in, which was great and I was definitely aiming to be in the senior side early in the year, so its all worked out well."

Hislop said changing clubs was never easy but the Tigers had welcomed him with open arms.
