Hi,
I'm new here but I just thought I'd drop in to this board first-off and say awesome going by the Aussies.
After the NZ games I didn't think we'd win the whole thing, even if the 'Australia is finished hype' was overblown.
Kudos to the selectors for having faith with what turned out to be an awesome side.
Hayden proved all his doubters wrong, Gilly played one of the all time great innings, Ponting and Clarke were as bankable as they come. Hogg came from nowhere to recapture his best form.
The youngsters impressed me too. I was a Watson doubter, especially playing at 7, but he seemed to find another gear and I must admit he fully deserves his spot now. And Tait...well...I wasn't sure whether he could live up to the hype being thrust into a frontline World Cup role, but what a debut. Simply astonishing performance...broke the old record for World Cup wickets I think (behind McGrath).
Amazing stuff - and good signs for the future.
Cheers
