After the bye for the game against the Swans and beyond, Connolly needs to drop a few name players , not like we had with Blacky and Big Carr ie 48 hrs then they get a last minute reprieve. Its a gamble but unless he sends a clear message that recent efforts against the Cats, Dishlicker, Lions & Demons are not to be tolerated.

Stop telling us that he's disappointed, show us and more importantly show the players that he is really ****ed off.

There is a perception in the media that he wont drop any name players because he'll upset the player group.

TOOO Bad .After that effort on Sat againstv the cats the player group has very little credibility.

He needs to get them angry, really angry with the world at large. Point the finger tell a few home truths. How they perform will determine whether he'll be around in 2007 or even sooner. He needs to come out swinging. Get in first, fire a few salvos.

He should play players who want to play for the club and each other. Some of the over rated prima donnas need to be in the WAFL.

Now is the time Connolly needs to make his move, throw caution to the wind. Take on the non believers on the list.

Give Hayden, Tatter, Cookie,Gilmore(if fit),Webster & Warren a decent go, lets see if they deserve to stay on the list.

He should forget about Harvey breathing down his neck, he is the incumbent and wont be removed without a fight.

Yes the players may hold his future in their hands and also the aspirations of tens of thousands of bleeding fans.

However, Connolly equally can cut short may careers!! Up the stakes and go for it.

He's too soft.

An interesting call on Pee Ahhh tonight, this bloke suggested that Connolly is more like a mother to the players, he chastises them but forgives them. He needs to be more of a father, give them a kick up the arse.

I don't know if Connolly is still soft, though the accusation certainly applied in previous years. I'm starting to believe the rumours that he has had his coaching authority eroded to the point where he can't really initiate change anymore.

Harvey was brought in against his will, the senior players don't appear to be on his side. Does he even run the selection committeee?

He should meet my mother. He wouldn't be saying that.

This is the problem in far too many football clubs. The coach needs to be appointed and left alone to build the football department without so many fingers in the pie.

That sounds a bit (very?) gay ... not that there is anything wrong with that.

I'm definitely a Dagg.
If you knew the reference, you'd know it wasn't gay. Just checking :)

When you think about it, it might actually get the disgruntled messages across about the club.
Whose disgruntled message, not sure I get your point there DA.

Anyways, I missed the interview but had it paraphrased by a friend. CC is probably right in saying the supporters need to be a bit more supportive at the games. Unfortunately, the crowd feed off the players and no matter how you swing it the players have been uninspiring for a the last two home games.

The clubs selling point is this concept of passion, as it turns out the passion can cut both ways.

Did he really say that the disgruntled members should saty away for 10 weeks?

Whatever CC does it's unlikely that he'll be able to make a difference. Most of the supporters know that he is a poor coach, and most of the players know that he is a poor coach.

Telling people to get behind the team or stay home isn't going to win him any friends. Many supporters were angry when his contract was extended, and have been proven correct by the onfield results since that decision.

If all disgruntled supporters take and abide by his message, then we will have significantly lower crowd numbers for the remaining home games, and they will feel the full brunt of the declining bums on seats at games and realise that something has to be done now, not later.

I agree when he says players should be supported on game day and not heckled, but sometimes its hard to sit through crap like that on a regular basis

I agree with you...
I think I could count on one hand the amount of times in the last 2 years I have come away from a game thinking we played really good footy
