Window is now open, have to plan aggressively.

Pavlich always double teamed, now won't happen.

Tarrant and Solomon will compliment each other - top line players.

FFC extremely happy.

Johnson, Mundy and Drum will play midfield.

Hasleby to return to bolster midfield also.

Plenty of tall defenders- needed assistance for Pav.

I heard CC say this before and I thought he was just outlining some ideas. Now it looks like he is serious about moving these guys into the middle and is so confident he traded on that basis.

We'll see how it goes.

Probably explain's why we didn't go after Coughlan/Tuck that hard.

It's a bit of a worry for mine. Seems like we have an abundance of good defenders, so he moves the surplus into the area we are deficient ie. the midfield. The problem is that good defenders don't necessarily make good midfielders.

My thoughts exactly!!

Great to see some optimism on these boards..

Johnson wont play midfield, Mundy is a definite move there and Drum will rotate between back and forward.

I think Haselby will play a forward pocket role.

Tarrant and Solomon are going to be very good for us, they are good mates and play their roles well. Solomon is a menace to opposition in the Josh Carr vein..

Does CC envisage MJ being a Goodes type roamer?

Yep.

I don't know if you saw any of our recent games Moo being in the middle east but Johnson started playing a fair bit on the wing, and he played well there.

Cheers Kenny

Last one I saw live was our victory over Melb, and then shoddy Internet feeds (oh and the finals on TV).

Thats why I love the internet ....

TTTAAAARRRAAANNNNTTT! We need Eddie back in the commentary box. ;)

Seriously, it all looks bad on paper, but we're not that badly done by. In fact I think we're better off.

We gain Tarrant, if nothing he free's up a little more from for the Pav, but I think he'll be more than this.

We lose our first round pick. Long term pain perhaps, its just one player though. We're not an old side, we can draft in future years before things get too bad.

We lose Polak, who we were going to lose anyway, but wasn't playing in the seniors often either. We lose Medhurst, who while I rate wasn't getting a game in the seniors anyway.

We get Solomon as a bit of insurance as a 3rd tall defender if someone goes down. Another big body to throw into the midfield or pick off cousins in a derby ;)

Have a little faith my friends. Enjoy the impending success.

Yep, I'm sure you know more than our coach who watches these players every day.

Idiot.
Every year Connolly makes these outlandish statements.
Remember Siegert was going to be 200 game player, he was going to make Woods a key forward and this year Walker was going to move into the midfield and Schammer play back because he was a better user of the ball.

And he's the same guy who failed to play Pavlich up forward for 3 years, who didn't realise McPharlin was a backman and who proclaimed Croad the future of the Dockers?

The guy who was going to be sacked mid year?

Oh yes isn't this the year of the super draft, according to every club's recruiting official?

When's Freo's first pick?

First pick is 31.

All these stuffups and we just finished 3rd, and have one of the best lists in the AFL.

Where did we go right?

Who do you support by the way?

He delivered exactly what he said he would in year 2006 when he was recruited to coach the club. He also delivered exactly what he said the club needed to at the start of the year; to play finals and win one.

At the very worst, we will be a better team next year than this year with the recruitment of Tarrant and Soloman.
