I like Cedric Cox but I reckon he's the sort that you'd let play in the WAFL for a year to see if he wants to earn a second shot.

You can want to offload Gaff’s contract all you want. The club’s not going to move him within weeks of signing him to a long-term deal.
He’s also just been judged our second-best player by the coaching staff, and in the top 40 in the league by the AA selectors. He’s a two-time All Australian, the 2015 Club Champion, and his lowest finish in the past seven years is sixth.
He’ll also be 32 at the end of his deal, not 33.
So regardless of whether you rate him, he’s rated highly internally and externally, and after going to great lengths to persuade him to stay, they’re not going to move him on. So you may as well come up with a different fake trade.

The thing that makes you realise it’s true is that we give up a second rounder as well as Yeo for the spud. My oh my.
More importantly you can’t trade an under contract player without their consent. So unless Gaff said he wanted to go there is no go.

Paddy Cripps is contacted until the end of 2022 where he's most likely going to be a restricted free agent, so since Carlton have LOTS of cap space (hence why they're going after big named players although that cap space will reduce if they get that gun player), they can match ANY offer we come up with assuming they don't over pay that gun player they get. I don't think we'll have the trade currency to do the trade not to mentioned we'll have to give up some players if we were to make the trade. Players we'll have to give up due to lack of draft picks would be Gaff, Brander and a future pick which we aren't doing. If anything he'll most likely be going to Freo if they can offload Hogan and if Mundy retires as they do have the trade currency to do it although he'll most likely STAY a Blue as he's not the type to get homesick and he's the face of the Blues.
Pro and Cons of getting Paddy Cripps.
Pros +
+ Improves our already strong centre clearances.
+ Improves our around the ground clearances that we have been average at, even with Nic Nat.
+ Allows Shuey, Yeo and Kelly to play outside.
+ Gives us the extra grunt.
+ Improves our contested ball more and our ground ball gets too.
+ Improves the midfield's inside strength even more.
Cons -
- We have no trade currency to get him and Carlton will match ANY RFA offers as they have lots of cap space. He's contracted until the end of 2022 atm.
- We'll have to give up Gaff and someone should we make a play for him.
- Will cost too much in terms of cap space.
- One dimensional like Pridda was. Can only play inside as he's too slow outside.
- Doesn't have Dusty or Dangerfield like influence as a forward despite his height and size.
- Doesn't have the class and polish with his disposals.
- Poor kick at goal (kicked more behinds than goals this season).
