Has been great tonight and was good last week, came in with little fan fare but has developed into quite a solid player.

never stops running , doesnt have to be flashy to be a good player. goes hard at the ball when he needs to. i think hes doin fine in the few games ive seen him. be definitely one to perservere with.

Is one of the fittest blokes at the club but was fairly outside but had the problem of not having the skills to warrant being so outside. Works very hard, has the tank to tag, is improving inside every week to the point where he now goes at it with everything he has. Blocks well around clearances.

Still I think he has to many defincies in too many places to be very good long term.

He was pretty solid, didn't particularly like it when he was side and side with Burgoyne (who was suppose to have him? Or were we just rotating people through him?).

He goes in hard, and his disposal is solid, without being spectacular.

He was on Shaun Burger early in the 2nd, but later I saw Tooves was on him, so it was hard to get a gauge on it.

Cookie was very good early, the only pot I had on him was the attempt at the Brodie Holland award for rainmaker kicks. Generally speaking, I think it was a good outing and probably the best I've seen of Cookie thus far.

Toovey was on him in the first and was getting murdered so Cook got switched to him early in the 2nd, Toovey later got moved back on him for a short period but that didn't work and Cook rotated with a few others for the rest of the match.

I'm watching the replay on the Foxtel, and in Q1 it's Cook v Boak and Toovey v Shaun Burgoyne, though whoever's on Burgoyne doesn't necessarily follow him into the centre square for bounces.

No doubt we rotate a few opponents on Burgoyne. Tonight highlights our need for mids who can win clearances and a tagger who can put the brakes on opposition mids when required.

Lade killed us in the ruck too.

Yes, Cookie was on Boak in the 1st quarter, and Shaun Burger early in the 2nd, after which Toovey went back to him.

I'm not 100% though because to be perfectly honest, I got the Burgoyne brothers confused on a few occasions.

He has the poise, skill and composure to make it, and will only improve with more games in the seniors.

It has seemed as if he has replaced Heath Shaw in that attacking half back position, but has also shown patches of ability to be a midfielder.

And guess what, we got him for Richard Cole, now who's laughing.

I watched the replay last night, with particular attention to who was on Shaun B. For the first three quarters Cook and Toovey swapped on him. I reckon it was about 60% Toovey and 40% Cook. (At centre bounces whoever was "tagging" him didn't always follow him into the square.) In the last quarter we rotated several different opponents on Shaun B. O'Bree, Swan, and Davis all stood him. Burgoyne faded a bit in the second half, but I think that was more fatigue from already having won 235 clearances than anything we did to stop him.

Desperately need to develop a competent tagger. I'd like to see Goldsack given a go. Wellingham might be an option too -- at least as part of his midfield apprenticeship.

I think his main job for the night was Boak. Whenever Boak came to the bench last night Cook followed not sure if it showed on the TV.
