After lot of promise, I think if Adam doesn't improve significantly this year, he may run the risk of falling oof the wagon of Bulldogs midfielders. He can turn it on for a game and quarter here and there but his form is ordinary at best. Why is this being ignored by supporters? How long will the supporters accept his mediocrity?
what a stupid stupid thread.
you should know from the crap guys like deledio and tambling get that these are still very inexperienced players learning on the go. cooney is going to be very good.
you are merely another uneducated twit with a total lack of understanding of player development or football knowledge.

Dean Cox's collarbone disagrees with you.
Haha, good call.

Cooney's not weak, you can't play with OP and kick that many goals and get that many possessions without a rest, and also be 'weak'. Sure his performances weren't superb week in, week out, but he took one for the team by actually playing when our other guys couldn't.

Make or break for what?

Cooney is a good player. He's easily good enough to be in the Dogs midfield. The only thing he's make or break from is whether or not he'll live up to #1 draft pick expectation. And I don't think that's at the forefont of his or the WB's mind.

I don't have a problem if people opine that he hasn't so far lived up, and whilst an interesting talking point, hardly important.

I think Cooney will be on the second rung of midfielders for over 200 games. If Buckley, Judd, Harvey, West etc are level one, being just that little bit behind is pretty damn impressive.

HAHA HOW FUNNY IT IS HOW ALL THE RICHMOND SUPPORTERS KEEP COMPARING THEIR PLAYERS TO OURS
richmond will again finish outside of the 8, they speak of cooney going backwards, maybe they should look at their club first.

cooney being a number 1 draft pick ppl expect the world from him, he still gets plenty of the footy and does his job for the team. Cooney has a great long kick and can kick goals outside 50, he is quick out of the midfield, an accurate pass and the ability to tear teams apart (eg crows last year), he will gain consistency as he gets older and when his o.p settels. Im a big fan of cooney. people dont give him credit because when he makes a mistake ppl notice it much more then say when corssy or grif makes a mistake, people love to hate cooney for some reason, but when he bauks deledio runs to 50 and kicks the winner over richmond ill be their chanting.... COOOOOOOOO

No seriously, this is a pisstake isn't it?

Cooney is no star but he's coming along nicely. Probably needs to work on his defensive side but nothing compared to the drugs you must be on to have started this thread.

Absolute rubbish.

He is an excellent young player who has done as much as most No.1 picks at the respective stage of their careers. I would love to have him and am sure the Bulldogs are rapt to have him.

He will have an excellent career and has done everything his club would want from a player of his age.

quite right.

hell, he might break a leg - and then he'll only be twice the player that tambling is.
