I was wondering if anyone knows any information about the Cornish brothers playing for West Adelaide. I believe Thomas is playing in the under 19s and Gordon Cornish is playing under 17s.
From what ive heard Gordon is the better player. Ive notice he kicked a few bags of goals this year and only played half a year last year and kicked quite few goals then as well. Is he a key position player and how big is he.

His name is George Cornish for starters and will be a gun. Kicked 6.4 on the weekend and is already the tallest out of his family.

Thomas is a good player, won B&F last year in the U17's after missing the last 8 games due to a broken thumb. How good is that?

Both are playing state footy this year, Thomas in the U18's and George in the U16's.

Thomas is 18 in June and George is 16 today i think.

And your real name is? :p

Thanks Gets. Had a feeling his first name wasnt Gordon.
The reason i was asking about this lad was because last year i heard a few good reports about him and I have noticed he has kicked a few goals already this season in the under 17s. In your opinnion is this lad capable of becoming a good afl key position forward in a few years and secondly how tall is he.

Kicking a few goals in U17's doesn't mean a hell of alot, Mike Wundke kicks bags of goals at U 17's and he's not gonna make AFL.

No thats true but ive heard that George Cornish could be something special where as with Wundke from North ive heard he kicking a lot of goals coz he is so big and thats about it. To be honest I dont know a lot about either player.

Just big for Wundke is a bit harsh, he's as strong as an ox, very quick sprinter, great endurance and great skills. He's just too short and one of the cockiest ********ers your ever going to meet. You do not consistantly kick bags of 6+ goals because you are strong. He will not make AFL if he does not become more versatile (No place in the AFL for a 182 cm FF) and improve his attitude. The only reason he missed out on State U16's last year is attitude!

The amount of players to kick bag after bag in the Under 17s and 19s and not even make it at SANFL reserves level is ridiculous. Therefore i take form at under 17s level with a pinch of salt until i start seeing there names regularly in the other grades too.

And as much as I am against anyone who can't kick on both sides, how many make it through to AFL level. I would say that there are more players running around today at the highest level who can't kick capably with both feet than ever before. It doesn't seem to be a hinderance. However, if I was a recruiter, if the player couldn't kick with his non preferred side by u17 level, then I would lose interest immediately.

I have to agree with you, I am amazed at how many times I see AFL players kicking with their preferred foot when they should have used their other foot. Even over short distances. With the amount of training these guys do there is no excuse for not being reasonable on both sides.
