I hope so. I'm two full days in to not working and yesterday I went up to the property and did some work. I can't do 6 weeks let alone 6 months. I don't do sitting still very well.

i think neither do most.

I have never been so by myself probably all of my life.

You've got all of us Sammm, might be sorry about that by the end of the lock down though.

I must say this is going to be a huge issue for many people. Luckily I can still work but apart from saying to someone at lunchtime a quarter and chicken with a wing please 3 dim sims and a can of no sugar coke thank you I go a whole day without conversing with anyone. Then I come home to an empty house and then it’s rinse and repeat. Previously that was fine Monday to Thursday but then I would have drinks Thursday and Friday nights with mates and either local footy or saints or pub. On the weekend. Now what happens. See not one single person every day for many months. I know we can only leave the house for certain things but for my mental health I will be using the two people rule. Yes that means I’m leaving for one of the reasons not suggested but please don’t judge unless you see no one every single day of the week.

It's going to be a driver for some of the mental health issues.

Throughout it's felt like they're focused so much on the virus they've forgotten other health issues that will arise.

The numbers dropping is an encouraging sign.

Not judging at all. Use the two person rule just socially distance.
Your mental heath IS the reason to get out and see someone.
The virus will spread, we are trying to slow it.

I think that’s why they have gradually stopped people working. For people on their own who normally have company it will be a huge issue. Even for older parents. I saw my parents for the last time in a long while last weekend They normally see their children every week and unlike many of us computers completely confuse them so seeing them on an app isn’t going to work.

Frightening sign for USA is that their numbers of cases are doubling within the 2 to 3 day period and showing no real signs of beginning to slow.

20,000+ new cases yesterday.

Trump has made a mess of this outbreak, and I think it will cost him the election.
I've got to say, it's pretty nice seeing Australia's line start to move away from the "doubles every 3 days" line on the graph. I think things are going about as well here as they could be at this stage. The real test will be in 10 days time, if there is a supposed lag period where you're asymptomatic but still spreading the virus, I'm interested to see how the graph will look after we've been essentially been told to stay isolated.

I hope it is effective at slowing the spread.

No judgement here mate. Just keep your distance and stick to the 2 people rule.

As a species that craves social interaction being isolated is tough on a lot of people. Do what you have to do to look after your wellbeing, just do it responsibly

I agree that they are cactus. But this graph is horribly wrong to use.
Why should Singapore with its population of 5 million even have the same starting point as the USA with their 300million.
You could compare Singapore to just NYC i suppose ( and NY would still be losing ).
If there was a little island with 105 people, and their death rate would be flat after day 2. We would say what a wonderful job they did.
The same logic says that none of the others should be compared.

Thank you. I hope I will be ok. I am one of the lucky ones as i have work and am working from home. Just not used to the 24 hours a day type stuff.

He certainly looks like he has. He is one crazy person but it seems many yanks are just as crazy. He is more popular than ever.

It’s amazing what you can do with figures. Our figures are going up by just as much of not more per day but because the numbers are getting higher the percentage is dropping. I understand that is what we want as it means we start getting a curve but it doesn’t change the fact that just as many if not more are getting it. And everyone understands I’m good with percentage.

Always think the same with these graphs.

Seems grim making leaderboards out of this type of stuff but just worked this out.
Shows totals, totals per capita as well as where they rank amongst all countries data.

On ABC news tonight they said Turkey is growing at an alarming rate. Sitting at about 9k cases but growing at a faster rate than anywhere else on earth.

A few weeks ago a guy at work and i were looking at the world map of cases, and we noticed turkey standing out like dog's balls with no cases at all, while all the countries around them were showing some.
Yeah right . we thought.

This is deaths per 1M pop but Turkey is definitely increasing and very recently as well

Problem with working at home, I have found, is you tend to get caught up and before you know it you have been sitting in front of a screen for hours.

Make sure you get up for a snack and a walk too. When I first started about three weeks ago I was working till about ten every night and it nearly killed me. 😳
