Sounds alright, get her in the mood. I went to Cornwall a few years ago to see where the ancestors came from. It was some random shithole but all these middle age women made pilgrimages there because the filmed a show with some porny looking guy with long hair. I tried to watch an episode and it was shit. Pretty sure it was made just for dirty middle aged women. It doesn't take much.
Yeah Poldark. Was a series of books and a tv series in the 70's.

Aiden Turner rides up and down the 100 metres of Cornwall that doesn't have a Tesco or Boots or a Motorway on it.

Outlander books are Mills and Boon on steriods.
On the show, Jamie bangs Clare every episode and the guy is built like a brick shithouse. No wonder the women swoon over it.

Any ideas apart from tv for a person who just cannot read a book even a sports book. Luckily I will still be working next week by the looks of it. Well at least early in the week but with no sport and most likely no racing I need to activities. No painting of the house allowed as a suggestion. Rather stick my in a crocks mouth.

You'd rather have what in your mouth?

Causes drowsiness, a comatose state that lasts for several years and loss of motor skills.

Once the virus is eliminated the patient will recover almost fully. Unfortunately hand to ball to foot motor skills will never recover.

Yes can't be too careful.
The avatar is also prepared for stage 4 health restrictions if needed.

Let me tell you where we're at in San Francisco. It appears we're at least a few weeks, maybe a month ahead of you. The City and the State of California went into immediate social distancing with non-essential employees asked to work from home. I've been working at home for the past 10 days. The rate of infection continues to climb in both San Francisco and California, but the rate is slowing. Social distancing works. That said, we may be looking at ANOTHER MONTH under these guidelines. It looks as though the Australian government has been proactive in shutting down borders and enforcing quarantines which will help you immensely. Just expect a long process.

Great to hear from you SFSaint!

Sounds like California is a direct contrast to New York and the Federal response over there!

Keep safe and keep posting mate!!

San Francisco began social distancing on March 16 and New York waited until March 22. Time = lives. California issued a statewide social distancing order on March 19. There isn't a unified federal response in America. The governors of each state controls the policy. Honestly, if we left it to the federal government it would be a disaster. Our local government jumped the state and ordered our social distancing rules a few days before the State of California. Unfortunately, there are other governors around the nation that have done nothing. Watch states like Florida, Texas, and Oklahoma over the next few days. They were late to pull the trigger.

Or California don't live in each others pockets like New York

Actually, New York and San Francisco aren't even the densest cities in the US. Those are areas around New York City. San Francisco has a little over 6,650 people per square kilometer. I believe Melbourne is roughly 500 per square kilometer.

USA now tops the list with 100,000+ infections. 312 new deaths yesterday. No flattening in sight for them ATM

Yes, the regional (or statewide) numbers vary significantly depending on the actions of each state. The national numbers are a disgrace, because some states have done nothing. There are still states in the US that allow people to congregate at bars and restaurants. As a nation, our infection numbers are going to skyrocket.

111 cases for Victoria overnight, get ready for stage 3 if not stage 4
Are those linked to overseas travel - in line with a large amount of people returning over the past week - or are those an increase in community transmission?

Thats a pretty important distinction before imposing even more restrictions onto society

I hated that book. It's torture pr0n, about as subtle as a claw hammer to the head. That said I still haven't forgotten it a couple of years after reading it. I went through Donna Tartt phase a while ago. If you like that try the Goldfinch. It's big and memorable. The Little Friend by her is good too.

Funny that, I found the Goldfinch so terribly drawn out that I ditched it right near the end.
I’ve learnt to do that if I’m not enjoying a book, not worth the time.

...and now for a few completely different...
*any and all of John Boyne’s books - he’s a terrific writer. Especially A History of Loneliness and The Heart’s Invisible Furies.
*The magic strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom (Tuesdays with Morrie)
*A gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles - slow but beautifully written

George maybe time for an in season/off season bookclub thread? 😊
