Kicking the ****s about isn't really popular policy any more either, it's almost as if Abbott, and his mates would prefer to win back control of the party, and if that means being in opposition, so be it.
Absolutely! Abbott is as revengeful - maybe more - than Rudd. He could collect his huge Parliamentary super and with the fees he could charge on the speaking circuit do much better financially than remain a back bencher. He has plenty of fellow wreckers still in Parliament and in News Corp who will at the very least make Turnbull squirm by the week as the election approaches. Must say it's great to see the reactionaries having the in-fighting this time.

I agree, although I don't think that the majority will fall for it, they will see it for what it is.

The weirdo Right are in mourning - they cannot accept the fact that Aussies don't give a toss about gay marriage. When you have farmers saying its no big deal they have lost the battle. That is not to say that ****wits like ACL and the lunatic fringe of my coreligionists will not sponsor some of the worst propoganda you will ever see

I agree, although I don't think that the majority will fall for it, they will see it for what it is.

A lot of mainstream Australians don't understand why same sex marriage and gay rights is still an issue. Having people like Bernardi and Christensen being prominent is hopefully making them realise why the pro-equality side is still so important.

And in fact, if Bernardi had said 'I don't agree with abortion, or I don't agree with homosexuality. I'd probably just go 'wotevs Cory', don't agree and I won't be voting for you. But you are entitled to your opinions.
But he didn't say that, did he? He went beyond that and made claims that are ignorant, offensive and not able to be sustained by reasoned argument or evidence.
So I don't have to tolerate them as I have quite cheerfully acknowledged-so no need to 'look in the mirror' thank you Ripper. ;)

So if Bernardi had 'said I don't agree with abortion', or 'I don't agree with homosexuality' without justifying either statement you would have been ok with that? But you don't tolerate it when he explains his views? What does your non-tolerance entail?

Penny Wong was happy to debate same sex marriage with Bernardi. And despite not supporting a plebiscite he would accept the result.

I’m not advocating for a plebiscite, but if the parliament continues to go through bill after bill after bill and it keeps, continues to get rejected we have to decide it one way or another in a decisive manner. And, quite frankly, if there was a majority of states that said and a majority of people in a majority of states said that’s what we want, we want to redefine marriage to open it up to same-sex couples, who am I to argue with that, quite frankly?

Where is the proof that Abbott is sabotaging Turnbull from the backbench? Are you sure this is happening or do you just follow the drumbeats of the MSM who tell you everything you want to hear!

It appears Cory in hast forgot to renew his domain; http://www.corybernardi.com.au/

WHILE Cory Bernardi has been busy berating the Safe Schools Program that teaches respect for LGBT children, the gay community appears to have ambushed a website under his name.

The sneak attack emerged overnight on social media after amused users discovered the URL CoryBernardi.com.au now displayed an image of the gay pride flag and the tagline “Compassion Lives Here”.

We can recall Penny not supporting gay marriage during the Gillard years - remember that very uncomfortable Q and A where she was gagging on the words she was forced to say. Bernardi is a bigot - pure and simple - his lack of sophistication in pursuing his cause is a boon for the other side

Think I have been pretty clear with this, but...
Yep I have no problem if someone says they don't agree with homosexuality, or abortion, or vegetarianism, or they don't like Beyonce, or volvos. I may not agree, and I may think they are dopey, But happy for them to have their own views.
When they qualify that viewpoint with this sort of thing: being a vegetarian will lead you down the path of polygamy, or listening to Beyonce will turn you into a practiser of bestiality, or driving a volvo will work as a form of birth control. Then I find myself feeling less tolerant, and more especially if you are a politician expressing these views that are weird, incorrect and cannot be supported by evidence.
I'd like the people running the country to be on Planet earth in 2016. Is that too intolerant of me?
Go watch the footy Lester-let's have some fun!

Lets not forget people voted for Bernardi by accident, he shouldn't even be in Parliament. I legitimately cannot believe we need to have this discussion in 2016. The fact the chaplaincy program hasn't been dragged into this debate by Labor is surprising, no doubt that would make Turnbull squirm.

Especially since it is costing us 243million as opposed to 8million.
If they want to cut spending they can start with the chaplaincy program.

Probably , but there are worse forms of bullying than that. I can see it backfiring as 10 y.o's have little idea of sexuality and this will alert them prematurely

Exactly! Can you imagine, little mixed up Johnny goes to school gets taught there's no difference between gay/hetro/trans sex. Being a horny teenager and with those words of wisdom ringing in his ears bumps into the local fruit who promises the night of his life and... spends the rest of his life in counselling.

Exactly! Can you imagine, little mixed up but Johnny goes to school gets taught there's no difference between gay/hetro/trans woman sex. Being a horny teenager and with those words of wisdom ringing in his ears bumps into the local fruit who promises the night of his life and... spends the rest of his life in counselling.
Sometimes you make me laugh, you really don't believe what you just posted, do you?

What the ****???....

Safe schools will lead to homosexual- pedophilia- rape?

If there is a position to take a backwards bigoted stance on, Xsess, you always take it...

How long ago did you go to school?? We were doing sex ed by that age and this was at a fairly conservative Christian school. I'm not sure talking about how boys can like boys and girls can like girls is any more sexualising than talking about erections and periods

Who said that? What I said was normalising alternate sexualities might well make the 3% of homosexual kids feel better but at risk of confusing all the other kids.

You don't give kids enough credit...

What is there to confuse kids about? - They accept things for how they are when they are young because they don't know any different...

I think you are projecting

No... what you said was;

A scenario... in which after the "horny Teenager" Johnny is taught intolerance, the "local fruit" will take advantage of him, which is statutory rape.

You bigot.

You really should read more widely. Abbott sympathisers Abetz and Andrews have both taken pot shots. Abetz over the Cabinet make-up and Andrews over our Iraq strategy.

Then there was the leaked confidential 'talking points' sent to all Coalition members. And the leak of the document showing the government was planning to make sweeping changes to the Government's humanitarian resettlement program. To mention a few that come to mind.

But wait until the election date is set for the real artillery to be launched by the Mad Monk and his fellow travellers from News Corp.

Perhaps, but I say again what makes homosexuals any different to any other kid who gets bullied that they need their own special public relations program? IMO that's gone off on a whole different tangent that the stated goal or reducing bullying - which as I've said also happens to fat kids or those with mental health issues or because teenage girls can be bitches. The program should be a generic one of acceptance not one that singles out homosexuals.

You do know that Abetz and Andrews have always spoke out about what they believe in! There is no proof that Abbott is behind it. Turnbull had no spine when he was the opposition leader. Nothing has changed now that he is the PM.

Id imagine sex education in this age would include a fair portion of how not to be prey for predators, whatever the sutuation context.

But I guess that could be cultural marxism, who really knows, I bet marx didnt, or did he predict the social effect of the internet?
