The NKs ran out victors again today. Cotchin, from all accounts was BOG. The Blues have a lot of thinking to do leading up to the draft. Leaving Cotchin for the Tiges to snap up may come back to bite them.

I hope he's as good as edwards,what a find he's been this year.:thumbsu:

Cotchin was just fantastic today. Gippsland tried to rough him up like at the champs but today he just got on with business and put in a massive game. His kicking was about 80% of the time spot on, both sides of the boot. He is one of the safest kicks into space for a leading forward you will see, which is exactly what richmond need.

Kreuzer didnt play one of his best games but at the same time looked like a really good prospect again. Palms his hitouts and is clean off the deck, cotch would love his direct hitouts. Nothing today screamed #1 pick but he certainly wasnt bad.

Thanks for the report KJ!

Geez I hope Carlton take Kreuzer.

Yeh same mate, couldnt stand having to hate a player like Cotchin the next 10 years. On a side note, Cotchin showed some real mongrel at the end of the first quarter. I faintly saw him swin a fist but just miss his opponent. Good to see a player not letting anyone bully him around.

I'm hoping we get Cotchin at 1 and Morton at 3.

That leaves us with a pretty good midfield for the future:

C C.Morton M.Murphy N.Stevens
OB S.Hampson B.Gibbs T.Cotchin

And that's not to mention Simpson and Walker who will also rotate through.

I love Edwards, but if we get Cotchin I would hope he was a bit better then Edwards

Both Kreuzer and Cotchin will be great players in time for the clubs that pick them in the draft. Next year will be a learning year for both of them. Yes they are ready to play AFL but its still a massive step up and the speed will catch them out most likely.

It remains to be seen who is chosen by us. Its likely Carlton will pick Kreuzer due to their need for a ruckman / tall midfielder, which leaves Cotchin available for us.

If weaver is right though and he is quite knowledgeable about the draft, we could pass on Cotchin and take Morton as his kicking skills are, according to the draft watchers, exceptional.

What about Cotchin's sublime skills???

Would absolutely love Cotchin, but if Carlton take him at 1 atleast we know our ruck problems will be solved for the next 12 years and we certainly shouldnt be complaining if we get Kreuzer.

The other good thing is today's game was a final (added pressure) and it is good to hear Trent performed well. Goes someway to covering for the poor Nationals he had when he was tagged heavily.

Others at the game seem to think that Cotchin wasn't that good at all and had to be moved out of the centre after failing to a heavy tag.

Looking for a third opinion before I get to excited.

Hopefully Weaver was at the game

who are these others??

Cos all i've heard from a couple of mates who went and wat i've read on the forum was he was brilliant

Could be our own Tambling V Franklin war :D
The 192 cm tall Morton who is another bottom age tall from WA could be the Franklin to your Tambling(Cotchin). ;)

Deledio and Miller appeared to enjoy Cotchin's second half.

Kreuzer didn't set the world on fire today and didn't return after he was injured in the third quarter. He rucked well in spite of the windy and scrappy conditions and was prepared to put his body on the line to get the ball or tie it up.

Both clubs will get a gun player and a player they need. :thumbsu:

Don't take him!

He's hopeless! :D ;)

Phew... first post after a 3 week stint on the sidelines for calling franklin a dud...
I went to the game today and i thought he was brilliant, he seems to create play with his quick thinking and smart footy brain.
The thing that stuck out with me for Cotchin today was his agility, can turn on a dime. Also he was kicking on both sides of his body very frequently and very nicely.
Kruezer or Cotchin to the Tigers, im not bummered anymore
