One problem with Essendon matches is that we have too many reserved seat holders. Last week at the Essendon Vs St.Kilda match -where it should have been a sell out - there were only 47,000-49,000 people there. I think the game was officially a 'Sell-Out' but not by Bums-on-Seats. I'm pretty sure that the scoreboard said that 8,000 people with reserved seats didn't show up. I know that quite a few Medallion Club members didn't turn up but there were also a few empty seats in the Essendon Reserved Area. And remember this was the only game in Melbourne. If this was any other team it would be close to a Full House. Essendon is one of the biggest crowd drawers in Victoria, but if we can't get a Full House from the only game in Victoria then it makes us look lazy.

Doesn't worry me in the slightest. As long as we get a good turn out and at the end of the day it doesn't effect our revenue if reserved seat holders don't turn up.

it just depends on the quality of game as to whether it will crack the 50k mark or not when its a sell out, it was sold out last week though essendon wasnt expected to win at all and that turned off a few reserved seaters holders by the looks of it.

last year we sold out the dome 4 times and we cracked the 50k mark in each of them i think because essendon was near the top 4 and were expected to do well in those games and so all essendon reseved seaters and medallion club members decide to turn up.

we will get the record anyway next year on ANZAC day.
