Tonight is the first time ever (As far as I am aware) that a countdown clock will be in use at the ground for all players and spectators to know how long is left in each quarter.
What are peoples feelings about this?? There is not many sports in the world that don't have a countdown clock. I think its a move in the right direction. I think the players have a pretty good idea anyway how long is left, and there is no doubt the coaches boxes know. Will it add anything to the spectacle?
I'll be in the stands keeping an eye on it. I'd say the jury is out. If the Pies are up by a few points and they have the ball in the backline are we going to countdown the last 30 seconds?? The last 10 seconds could become a huge chant!
If the game isn't close I don't think it will matter either way.
