I'd love him at the dons, if he cleaned up his ways. He could definately teach our young midfielders what hard work is, also he is still one of the best players in the league.

He surely knows by now that all eyes are on him at all times in Perth being the fishbowl it is and his recent history with controversy. Yet with all this considered he still finds his way into undesirable situations (being with mainwaring, he and chick associating with someone allegedly to be in possession of drugs). Somehow he ignores all the warnings and is persistently found in the company of those less desirable. Surely with all the scrutiny he is under he would be clever enough to shy away from these people and situations. Nope, not Ben Cousins.

Sure he may be under the same scrutiny from a new melbourne club and melbourne media, but Melbourne city has a lot more dirty haunts for Benny to practise his habits. Perth is childs play compared to Melbourne, not only will he be upgrading to higher purity drugs but also a greater pool of drug users. Moving to Melbourne may be a great idea for any other interstate footballer looking to renew their football career, but most who do so don't carry the baggage Ben does.

Melbourne is a haven for people like him, be it fortunately or unfortunately (depending on which side of the drug debate you sit on). Ben is not, contrary to some reports, a drug addict. An addict is someone devoted to a particular interest or activity. His activity or interest of choice taking up most of his time and effort is football. You would be a fool to think Ben spends more time doing drugs or in a drug induced state than he does preparing for or playing football. He is a recreational drug user, albeit a much publicised one.

However, the frequency of such a "recreation" is more likely to increase in Melbourne than it is in Perth. Being a Melbourne boy myself, and also frequenting the most popular of "dirty" nightspots i can guarantee he'll find a place to hide and new friends to share his good times with. He wouldn't be the first to succumb to this lifestyle, and don't believe Essendon players (past luckily) are exempt from it either.

A Leopard will never change it's spots but i do believe he will play for another AFL club next season, a few clubs will overlook his past and focus on his playing ability and how it can enhance their clubs success while convincing themselves they can offer the support he needs, an area where WCE odviously failed.

What you don't realise is some clubs would've had players getting upto strife off the field too like Cousins and kept it quite and away from the media, so they would be confident in handling Cousin.

The poor bloke is being hung out to dry , there's heeps like him in the AFL system, they either don't have the same high profile or have'nt been caught yet.

The fact is he is a gun footballer with some off field drama's, until i see him shooting up at half time, which would really look bad for the game, who cares.

You would think he's the first drug user thats ever walked on this planet the way everyone is carrying on.

To all the Cousins baggers out there, take a broad look at your own family , work mates or close friends and bet there's a few the same if not worse than Cuz.

So true, its no different to an alcoholic except alcohol is legal, it can **** u up just as much...
