We are on our moral high horse on Cousins... Kerr and Didak are welcome though. I don't know why but that's the way it is.

I know that Cousins has been battling a drug addiction, but Lovett himself comes with off field baggage, yet we have been enquiring about him. Yes its not as serious as what Cousin's has been going through, but as the report says, if there was one club that could get him back on track, its us.

Worth considering IMO. But very unlikely.

A meeting recently in Sydney between Paul Roos and Dean Cox has fuelled speculation that the we are intersted in Ben Cousins. This has been rebuffed by Andrew Ireland.
I doubt that the Swans will be recruiting Ben Cousins after I discussed the entire Cousins situation with a drug addiction specialist here in the US.

After learning about the entire story he agreed that Perth was the wrong environment because it's a two-team town and the pressure it creates along with the established contacts he has there. However, he also stated that Sydney was the wrong destination for the opposite reasons because he will be invisible enough there to secretly relapse, unless of course the Swans are prepared to baby-sit him 24 hours per day, which is unlikely.

He added that Melbourne would be the right destination because he won't have the pressure anymore of being in a two-team town as in Perth, but he won't be invisible either as he will be in Sydney. He will be too well known in Melbourne to secretly relapse and he will be forced to concentrate on his footy there, which is exactly what he needs.

Could there be anything in this? Or are we after the BIG Cox?

I wasn't going to say anything about this rumour I heard this morning, but here goes. Do I believe it ? No way! But did I hear it from a 'reasonable source'? Well some of the other stuff he's told me in years gone by has been on the money. The first being Tony Lockett back a few years ago.

Anyway! He told me that Cox is unhappy at West Coast!
Guess the rest because I can't even believe I posted that much.

No way known this could be true but funny you should ask it in your post.

OK.............I'm going now before I get 'bashed' from pillar to post.
I'll be back next year when the dust settles!!

Hehehe...............:D

I would love cox to come to Sydney, BUT

We are struggling as it is for trade value to get Kerr, so how would we get cox.
I came up with a pretty fair plan to get cox AND Kerr.

Heath James for Cox and Kerr and we will add LRT just because we are generous.
Any Thoughts?

imagine a midfield with cousins, kerr and a fit goodes, including kirk and jude bolton.

we wont need forward targets, only a gimp like playfair who is similar to quinten lynch.

Most treatment specialists, especially those treating "the famous and well-healed", would agree that returning to a high profile life as an AFL footballer, wherever that may be, is absolutely the wrong choice.

That midfield would be betetr than the Eagles midfield of 2006 and would rival the Geelong midfield. It will never happen though.

There are a lot of drug experts on this board, Cousins wont be allowed to play unless he is clear. And yes i would love him playing for us.

If he is allowed to play, He will either be going to Collingwood or St.Kilda. Having said this anything is possible. Because Judd was on his way to Coll no thanks to our ex CEO Greg Swan who defected at the start of 07 with all our trade secrets.

Kerr will stay at WC one more year.

For Kerr to go to Syd this year, Syd to give WB either Keefie or Hall plus I think 2nd round pick. WB to pass on their 1st round pick to WC plus Syd 2nd round.
WC get an extra 1 round pick. WB get that Key forward they want seeing they believe they are close to winning a flag and keep their 2nd round draft pick.

WC feel as though they got a good bargin for Kerr, Sydney get kerr and possibly a serious go at the flag again.

We wouldn't **** over O'Keefe like that though. He wants to go to Melbourne and he's out of contract. He can doubly **** us over by entering into the PSD and giving us crumbs, so if he does want a trade to Melbourne, we'll send him over there.

obviously a lot has changed since he signed his 4 year contract in Feb
(http://au.sports.yahoo.com/news/article/-/395882/cox-eagle-good). Seriously doubt that this one would even be considered.

Why Cousins? our window is closed he would just be another 30yr old clogging up the list denying another young player time to develop.

Cousins would of made sense 2years ago not now.

I kind of agree, but it depends on what we got him for, Im not gonna pretend to understand trading, but if he was cheap, go for it I reckon..
