Very exciting. I can sit in the stands and watch 3 new kids. Love going to the footy and watching players debut, and it's even more exciting when they are players like Cox and Dick who have a bit of flair.

Cox and **** ok,but Toovey from what i've seen of him in the nab cup games is a fumbler and gets caught a lot.I would rather see danny nichols get another shot.Ok the kid made a few mistakes against the eagles but one thing for sure he goes in hard and he is not scared.We need to keep playing those type's of players.Nicholls first game against the Eagles showed that he went in hard against the premiers....I reckon cox,****,nicholls.Johnson won't play so who else will get dropped ?Licuria and wakelin?
 
i spoke to Toovey after training today he is a top notch kid and i wish him all the best, he said himself, d1ck, and cox will play tomorrow night but there are 2 or 3 stops up and wont be finalised until friday,

Anyways i wish them all the best and hope they all do great, i spoke to D1ck also the kid was jumping out of his skin he was so excited

Toovey seemed slow in pre season games I saw esp against Saints. Good pre season or injury? I guess all will be revealed. Bit of a risk in a winnable game, no choice I guess, can't wait forever, good luck to all.

Malthouse then went on to tell an interesting story, of how when he was interviewing Brad **** prior to drafting him, Brad made some comments that were instrumental in giving Collingwood a greater insight into the hunger and desire fellow indigenous player Shannon Cox had to play AFL football when the two were back in Western Australia during the off-season.

Brad told Malthouse of how Shannon Cox was helping him train really hard to prepare for the draft by getting him out of bed and urging him to work hard in the early mornings.

“You hear this from a kid, and then you realise that Shannon went home and trained to play.”

Interesting stuff! Possibly had an impact on why we drafted Brad D ick as well.

I'm super excited to see the three WA boys playing this week :thumbsu: Hopefully all three have a much better debut than Nicholls
 
Looking forward to seeing D1ck and Cox, Toovey is interesting, I remember watching him at the State Carnival a couple years back playing for WA, sitting behind his family as it were, and thinking he looked outta place a little, hopefully tomorrow night he'll show me that he has come a fair way since then to debut so early this season.

i agree toovey is not up to afl standard from what ive seen.

very low quality player.

it was indeed harsh on nicholls to drop him after one game esp one at subi v the premiers.

He should be forgotten he is rubbish.

This is the first sign that we are rebuilding. After making the finals last year, it is going to be a frustrating year for the Pies. Bringing in youngsters is exciting but makes winning games very difficult.
 
Very happy and excited for T-bone (Toovs). Lord knows he deserves the chance after all the hard work he has put in. Hope he gets a negating role on Pettifer. Would be a good matchup
 
im looking forward to seein cox in action tonight. i hope he can demonstrate some quality run from defence as he does for willy. i think he is a great prospect for the club.
