Anyone that calls Australia OZ is either a kiwi or a pom and shouldn't be commenting on Australian Racing.
Your opinion, whatever dude.

I'm australian so far as i was born here, that doesn't mean i have to wear australian made blinkers and have the memory of a goldfish. I've lived all around the world and believe I have a global perspective if that helps.

Ever heard of Giant's Causeway? And I'm not talking about the place in Ireland. Neither? Yeh thought not. Come back to me when you actually know something.

You should be careful when you dont know who you are talking too.

How does anyone know this?

Is it because she leads in mile races? Apparently!
If they try & lead all the way 1st up,1st try at 2040 then you have to question why they bothered coming.

Not that we've actually seen video of it racing.

Why is it that in the year 2003,we dont have access to the tapes for a horse who we've known was coming here for the last 3 months?

Seth.

part of the reason is she has been bolting in trackwork and seriously front ending her work

I'm true blue aussie. Practise what you preach please.

A start would be to attack my points, not me.

Dear Mr. Deej.

Now if you read the posts carefully, you attacked me, but that being said I told you exactly what I thought and commented on each of your points.

And it was only a warning that you should not assume what people may or may not know. International Racing was not the subject of my initial post, so I found it irrelevant. But if you wish to discuss international racing feel free. I have an occupational involvement in horse racing in 4 continents.

I admire your love of Northerly, but you have to accept that there are other great horses out there, past and present. IMO a good colt/gelding/horse (male) will beat a good filly/mare (female), possibly 7 out of 10. The reason why I have rated Sunline, is that IMO there has been no other female horse like her.

Just like you will tell your kids and grandkids that you saw Northerly, you will also tell them that you saw Sunline.

Good Punting Deej.

Took the 33's Fields of Omagh some time ago, (missed the 66's)

I'd like to think that the 2 - 3mm of rain due today will make it a bit of a slugfest. Lonhro's worst career run was at the Valley. The mile & a half will find him out, & that Beadman will be outfoxed by the locals.

Then reality hits.

Lonhro has won his last 8 group races. Unbeaten in black type for the twelve months since last Cox Plate.
Unbeaten 6/6 on dead tracks, 2/3 slow.
If the race was run last week, or next week, & not called the Cox Plate he'd be 5's on.
Best WFA neddy going around at the present time by a long way.

So I'll stick with my old favourite FoO, BUT will quinella & trifecta up with the fav.

Good luck to all

Lonhro fans, no excuses now and the story has ended with the clearcut conclusion that he is not a champion.

Just keep on running him in those weak G1's in Sydney, Hawkesy, which make him look a lot better than he actually is.

BTW, hollypig, congrats! That is one nice little collect you have there!

Assuming Lonhro doesn't run in another Cox Plate, he ends his career as a good horse. Not a great horse. By no means a champion. I don't think there'd be too many people willing to argue the champion line for Lonhro anymore.

Thanks Catman, yeah that was a real buzz yesterday.
Now I'm cacking myself a little as I've taken a double through the week with FOO into Yakama for the Melbourne cup. 1250/1 @ $5.
Also backed Yakama @ 100's to win the cup. Total collect of around eight & a half g I think.

Thanks for coming, Lohnro's everything I thought he was.

Wonder if we'll get any admittance's of being wrong from a few of the Lohnro groupies round here?

Better than Northerly HAHAHAHAA

I've probably seen 10 horses better than Lohnro race in this country in the last decade alone.....Now we have to put up with people saying Lohnro's this/that best since kingston town etc, i mean fair dinkum what drugs are all these clowns on! We just saw the best since kingston town last year, how quickly some people forget.

Sorry Deej. I thought you might know something about racing but it appears from this post that you are just another mug punter who knows very little.
skipper kelly where for art thou?

Maybe its the track ? Lonrho wouldnt be the first horse not to handle Mooney Valley ?? Take away the Mooney Valley runs and the horses record stacks up pretty well in WFA races.

Fields of Omagh fully deserved to win after all the injury problems the horse has had so he was a worthy winner. Hopefully it puts up a great effort in the Japan Cup if accepted.

And so the lohnro excuse machine cracks up into gear,

-wrenched his back when they jumped
-got too far back and couldn't make ground
-didn't handle the strathayr
-got innocculated for a possible overseas trip and was suffering some side effects
-jockey error
-got flattened by a hard run in the Yalumba
-wet track

Can't believe you lohnro groupies, look for any excuse other than the truth - he wasn't good enough and he isn't the horse you thought he was. You were all wrong. Lohnro's a very good sit and sprint sprinter/miler that got away with murder in tinpot small fields up in sydney, he cannot run a solid 2000 when the heat is on.

yeh, had a big grin across me face when they crossed the line even though i wasnt on the winner, got no idea how bryan martin could finish the call still making sense!!

so i guess they will keep lonhro in melb for the mckinnon? interesting to see what price as he had proved once and for all that he needs a big track

Here I am.

Did I mention lohnro?

You are a bit like a child with selective hearing.

With each post Deej, you further emphasise your lack of knowledge. Good luck fella.

I was right about Lohnro.

Skipper, you keep attacking me personally, child, no knowledge, selective hearing. Any chance we can discuss Lohnro's "failure" in the Cox? I say failure only because he was odds on fav, he actually ran better than I personally expected.

Skipper if you want to talk sunline my personal views are a bit like Lohnro, a great sprinter/miler who could pinch a 2000 race if the topliners were absent. Any of Giants Causeway, Tiznow, Sakhee, Dubai Millenium, Captain Steve, Gallileo, Fantastic Light or Montjeu would've done the job in her supposed stellar 2000 year over 2000mtrs and beyond. You say you know international racing, which of those listed above would sunline have beaten over 2000? Bare in mind, Jim and Tonic was not in the same class as those listed, and he ran past her twice beyond the mile.

Deej. Its getting quite boring, anyway happy punting over the carnival.

:)

re: money matter. Stay away from factoring. It can be bad news. If your figures are right, someone will help out. Good Luck.

Boring? Nah skip I know this isn't the local pub or anything but i can never get bored of arguing the merits of horses, esp over a beer or two. One of the most enjoyable aspects of drinking beer in racing season is telling an unabashed sunline fan that the fighting tiger put her over a barrel not one, not two, but three wonderful times. :)
