Gee Pompeii gave me a great run for my money.
Very happy with $4 for the place.

And a small win bet on Fields Of Omagh has made the day, but I won't brag about that.. didn't tip it. Great run by El Segundo too.

I like Pompeii Ruler. How many times do you see all the talk about a couple of horses in the leadup to the race and then there's an upset?
His Craiglee and Yalumba runs should have him shorter in the market. His poor run in the Underwood is responsible for the odds but he jarred up that day.
There's word of a damp track and he has a win in the wet.
Remember they chose the Cox Plate over the Caulfield Cup early on and IMO Moody will have him spot on for this today.

Very happy with the $4 fixed odds I had for the place on Pompeii, but let's talk about the winner. What a champ! I was screaming for the old boy more than Pompeii who I had cash on, and I'm glad Fields won.
I don't care what anyone says, that was sensational and for me racing is streets ahead of any other sport, including football. Chills up the spine!
Does anyone know about this Legends retirement place that is starting up? I am keen to visit him and my other favourite from the past, Doriemus when I am in Melbourne in December. I know it's near Tullamarine but I haven't been able to find any web site for it etc.

Wow,now that was how a Gp 1 should be run.
Few bubbles burst in that as it should be

Congrats to FOO & all the FOO Fighters
El Segundo,terriffic again.
Pompeii Ruler, awesome at his 9th run.

Miss Finland, thanks for being in the race. Thanks to all the PM boys, you know where to send it.
Racing To Win,not sure it was Bossy's best?

Thought so too. Did Newitt go just a tad early?

I don't think so really. Looke more like the first wave of challengers came up to him and dropped off quickly, Red Dazzler and co. giving the illusion that Pomp had kicked clear. Thought Newitt did it brilliantly to get one off the fence and just off the lead too. :thumbsu:

****en spewing had El Segundo with the field for the trifecta and Racing To Win who was his main danger ended up being his main danger when he checked him just around the first turn, was a massive run from there and if that hadn't occurred he wins quite comfortably, oh the joys of ****ing racing. But wouldn't of wanted to b beaten by any other horse. GO THE FOO

Yalumba runners Cox Plate odds:

1st - Casual Pass - $26
2nd - Pompeii Ruler - $13
3rd - El Segundo - $3.30
4th - Fields Of Omagh - $21

I know he wasn't right in that race and he will be right at the Valley, but i can't have El Segundo at those odds.

Pretty good form guide for the Cox Plate wasn't it.

It is still early in the week. Fields of Omagh's last run caught my eye. Good value at $21. Also been hearing mutterrings from the Danny O'Brien camp about Honor in War. Might put a small speckie on him early on with odds at 101/26 e/w.

I cannot wait for the Melbourne Cup as I have FOO in doubles with Tawqeet, Pop Rock, Delta Blues and Our Smoking Joe all at triple figure odds. I just wish I had more on it in the weekend instead of putting it on LOTM.
