Despite the terrible questioning I took a bit from that. Primarily we’re going to be harder to beat at the contest so to everyone that’s bemoaned Grundy’s hitout efficiency I think you’re about to get your wish. Flowing from there we’re likely to defend more with ground position than numbers ala Richmond. I think he’s going to be a standard you walk past is the standard you accept type of guy and he’ll use relationship building to drive that because those strong relationships will foster courageous conversations.

Beyond that it’s hard to predict what we’ll look like because he kept things close to his chest. Now to put the board challenge to bed…

As a press conference it was everything it needed to be. It wasn't a spectacle; it was simple, on point and that was the right approach for the club. The presser focused on Craig, it was a positive message and didn't deviate from that even with some speculative questioning from the likes of TJ.

Craig is a new AFL senior coach, and Collingwood are looking to a start fresh. There was no mention of a rebuild which was really well played by the club, and the media didn't even think of it which I'm sure the Herald Sun Editors will go back and curse themselves about it.

Korda's performance wasn't great and to me that's fine. It allowed Craig and the others to shine and demonstrate why the club picked him, and for Craig to really perform. We should all be buoyant over the announcement, and, with Leppa likely on the way I'd say more good news is to follow.

They can be as interested as they want, that doesn’t mean he’ll suddenly be interested in them. If reports are true, he was unhappy at the way they treated Teague, so I can’t see him going there on principal more than anything.

The problem the Cheats have is that they can’t process the idea that a man would do the right thing and stick to his word. Decent behaviour is a foreign concept to them. They’ll keep on asking Clarkson and he’ll keep on politely saying No, until finally they panic and do a deal with Lyon.

There have been a long string of 'characters' at Collingwood who have got away with a lot of bllsht under the previous two administrations.

Can anyone who saw that interview believe that Macca would tolerate that sht??

Current players now have it laid out plain before them. . .

No more betting on AFL.

No more frisbee dogs.

No more basketball bllsht.

No more you can count on me incredible bllsht.

Players WILL be held accountable for their actions regardless of reputation - this in particular is a Collingwood failure of many decades.

Jordan and Brodie the time for taking your ease when things are going smooth or tossing your head when you have to chase is OVER.

Interesting times ahead. :)

I hope Wright was just being polite in the presser, but in reality they don't see any future for him at the club.
 
Really great interview. Didn't get sucked in to any garbage by Tom Browne or Jones. Just straight to the point. Very happy with this, even a month ago when I was told he was early favourite I liked it, someone different, someone with outside knowledge. So pleased for the club and players.

If he's contracted that will be the reason.
