I wasn't aware of this previous animosity (I never saw the article last time it was posted so I'm glad it was posted again) but to Cornes' credit he has really been very positive about Craig, almost from day one. His criticism about the process is aimed at the Crows administration. I certainly don't subsribe to the theory that Cornes is jealous of Craig's results so far. I also think it's way harsh to suggest Cornes underachieved. Regardless of the talent he had it was always going to take a couple of years to settle into the new competition. His 4th season was disappointing but you could expect much more from his first three.

Spot on ****...If Cornes was the vindictive type he could have taken Craigy to the cleaners after some of his baffling moves against the Saints.

In other words he failed to pamper certain players.

I wouldnt say that, he was from the Nuckles Kerley school (ala Gary Ayres) were the coach says its my way or the highway, and Im the king pin here. Do as I say, you know ..............the Adolf type.

Where as our current leader is more about respect. Heck they even look forward going to training now. Go figure.

I think the word I mentioned being respect as well as trust is the most forthright thing that is different about the two.

Streuth, if that was Cornes coaching last Saturday night he would have gone around with the players after the game giving high fives with the supporters.
Were was Craigy, gone into the bunker to prepare for next week. ;) :thumbsu:

Great article!!

I'm unashamedly one of the ones that Craig has won over, Cornesy!! :)

Join me to that list, I also agree with Cornes that the selection process was a sham and that when you look at experience and creditials Craig wasnt the best available coach from who was available, it was a job for the boys senario that thankfully worked out well for all parties. Thankfully the admin at the AFC saw something in Craig and with the appointment of some very good assistants have won the public of SA over.

Things were definately tough though and the devided public opinion over Craig's appointment must have been well known internally because Trigg kept constantly telling everyone that this year was the toughest pre-season he has ever been involved in and that all the staff were working 110% to ensure success. I am sure that they are breathing a sigh of relief with what Craig has achieved this season
