Feeling good about our chances against Pakistan. They've just lost the series 2-0 in NZ, but for much of today a draw looked inevitable. The Pakistanis reached 0 for 131, but then lost 10 for 99.

Strikers captain Brad Hodge told the media today, "We like to model ourselves on the Adelaide Crows. Like us they're famous for crashing out at the semi final stage."

Mark Waugh's boy Maddinson all but certain to remain for the next Test, currently on 57. Line up will go unchanged unless he or any others have a string of single figure scores in the ODI's and BBL...or injury.

Zampa a bit unlucky to be dropped imo, i thought the ones needed to be dropped were Finch and Cummins.

Looks as if dropping somebody named Ferguson after 1 game isn't just limited to Australia: the Kiwis did the same thing today.

Mitch Marsh :hearts:

This year Mitch Marsh has scored 642 runs at 45.85 and a strike rate of 96 with one century and four 50s.

Even if you ignore his bowling he wouldn't be in danger of getting dropped

But I can understand dropping the NZ Ferguson, without the runs scored from free hits the Kiwis would have been in the game for much longer and could even have won. Callum had two bad innings in a test which happens. There was no good reason to drop him for that.

NSW 112 ahead but 7 wickets down. Lyon has just come in, SA need to make sure they don't give him the chances that they did in the first innings or these last three wickets could add 100-150 and set SA a fair task.

EDIT : Lyon out for a duck. NSW 8/80.

Now 9/82 = 115 ahead. At the moment we're about 34 overs into the third day so it looks like yet another 3-day Sheffield Shield game coming up.

NSW o_O That's a redbacksesque collapse... but we still have to make the runs.

2/30 isn't a good start but the chase is only 121. And the first innings score after the second wicket fell was 58 so SA aren't that much worse off.

3/48 now.

4/48. Just when the team gets to a position where all they need is for the next two partnerships to be 30 each, they can't even do that. At least the last 5 wickets added 93 in the first innings and Cooper and Carey have been batting well.
The number of times we have lost wickets just before breaks doesn't bear thinking about. 2 wickets in the three balls just before dinner. It's obviously mental as it doesn't just happen to us.

Deadbacks... the only team that can blow a 112 run chase.
