Compared with Ashes 2017, I'm not sure, but it's definitely a step back from Cricket 19 (the game in between these two). That game was pretty well polished by the end. Absolutely loved it. Not perfect, but you could play great cricket with it.

They added very few features, but what they did add was a lot of bugs.

Disagree it's a step back from 19, it's better than that but not a great deal different.

Care to elaborate? I agree it's not much different but it seems to me like Cricket 19 + bugs and worse AI + new bowling animations?

How is the AI worse?

Outside of the overthrows I didn’t encounter the bugs which have been fixed it seems by the patches.

I wouldn't say "bugs" per se, but there are some very scripted moments, such as the AI seemingly having to go at a certain run rate, leading them to score a boundary off the last ball or two. Also some issues with lots of leg side bowling and no leg side field.

Found that in some cases in Cricket19 if you bowl 4 dot balls then 2 bouncers with 2 fielders inside behind square you'll get a lot of mis-timed hook shots being played

Yeah Cricket 19 definitely wasn't perfect, I'll give you that.

Still my favourite cricket game. Unfortunately got the switch version cause I was travelling at the time so loading times are a pain

Is this game showing signs of improvement? I was going to get it but held off due to a lot of comments regarding bugs and general issues.

I uninstalled it but over the last week or so the guys on the planetcricket forums have made some real progress in relation to game play. Forgot career mode if you want enjoyable and challenging game focus on test matches but its all about the custom sliders and re-skilling players. Players skill level needs to be dropped and it creates more genuine wickets like LBW and caught behind the wicket. Better chance of realistic scores etc.

Check out the site over there they have done a power of work on sliders for different pitch styles etc its made it really playable and enjoyable now.
 
Crazy how badly they’ve managed to take 1 step forward and about 3 steps back the with the stadium creator. They’ve added extra content (Grandstands and props), but also have taken away all freedoms you had in placing props and grandstand like we had in 19, while also taking away all grandstands that 19 had as well.

This just sounds annoying to do. Thanks for the advice from yourself but makes it sound like O should avoid wasting my money on this when they’re so many games on game pass where it will eventually end up.

Career mode would be my ideal play through.

Now that the ashes are over the interest in cricket will die down a bit.
So disappointed considering cricket 19 was a pretty good game.

I find it hilarious after how petty the Bigantstudios bloke was in the AFL forum shitting all over the game for 6 months, they bring out a game thats needed 21 patches so far and is still broken and buggy.
Maybe concentrate on not making broken games.

While I do think the big ant team had been great in the past this does show that it can come back around pretty quickly at you. There cricket games had been generally good but needing a few minor tweaks. This one seems horrible and pretty unplayable.

Makes those wanting a big ant football game which was myself included a bit of a worry

We all want great games, I just found the real pussy way he was back handing the other developers game for months pretty ****ed considering they arent exactly EA sports themselves
 
Tried again with all the patches , animations etc look very good but this game is broken as all hell.

So many bugs with the game play it’s not funny. Uninstalling for good.

And yes I can’t believe the big ant bloke shit all over the AFL game. IMO the recent AFL game is miles ahead of Cricket 22. 19 was a cracking game this is a shit show

Exactly, he has been copping it on Twitter to but to be fair some of the shit he cops from the Indian support base was crazy but at the same time geeee he came across pretty arrogant in regards to customers asking for refunds back for a broken game especially with the Xbox version. The fact the game was released and virtually unplayable on Xbox until Christmas was a joke.

Probably get sucked in with next release but at this stage I’ll be staying away from their next cricket release due to the shit show this has been from start to finish.

I like BigAnt and its great there is Aussie companies trying to make games but it kinda feels deserved after they were smashing WW for trying to make a footy game aswell.
