Seriously mate. And you call yourself a Port supporter. If he is guilty he should get the book thrown at him.4 weeks - give them a chance to have him back in finals if they loose week 1.

I don't feel sorry for Rankine and, if the other player isn't gay, I doubt he was bothered but any gay player or umpire who heard it would rightly be offended and upset. That's who I feel sorry for and why I believe in zero tolerance. AFLW embrace their gay members but it's so stupidly taboo in the men's competition.
It's not strange to ban certain remarks and name calling.Personally I think it is strange that we are suspending players for using words. By all means, they should be called out on it and put into some sort of re-education but don’t think suspending is the answer. Especially in a time when you can punch someone in the back / gut but not get suspended because it didn’t warrant enough force.

They’d have to get a pretty good ride from the umpires to win two finals without Rankine. They had an amazing free ride in the second half v Collingwood on sat tho so who knows.Crows will want 3 or 5, 4 is bait to see if they'll throw the 1st final to give him a chance if they make the GF.
I wouldnt take it, either accept 3 or plan for the GF without him.
Moore surprised that it was Quaynor he went at… as a Pies nuffie I’d presume he’d not even be in the top 3 targets to go at on the side with a “gay” sledge
He didn't say it multiple times. It's not Quaynor or Moore involved. I'm amazed at how much traction Twitter trolls have got on those parts of the story. People do realise where the Quaynor stuff originated, correct? It's a very well known troll and attention seeker on Twitter that pretends to be ITK.Did he really say it multiple times? Maybe he didn't want to play finals. Bizarre behaviour.
This feels a lot like 'punish, but only in a way that doesn't actually mean anything to the player'.Personally I think it is strange that we are suspending players for using words. By all means, they should be called out on it and put into some sort of re-education but don’t think suspending is the answer. So does Rankine call everyone he calls soft to apologise after the game? For example, would accusing someone of 'wimping out from a contest' be considered homophobic?
Happy for you to try and find any post I've written playing the victim about thisLook at you pretending there is not already a victim.
How's Darcy Moore dobbying on Rankine tho.
Dirty player who almost kills Christian Petracca with a friendly knee but some nasty words said and he's having big sook to the AFL, trying to get a player suspended from the premiership favourite.
Whatever it takes I guess.
Don't know. Did he call you?So does Rankine call everyone he calls soft to apologise after the game?
Spot the Adelaide/Chelsea fan.
Let me guess, you accidently left Maccabi Tel Aviv B.C. off your 'Other Teams:'?
They'll twist it dont worry. He wont be missing a GF.Love how quickly the AFLs own rules come back to bite them.
Assuming he’s guilty, the AFL are now forced to make a decision to either have one of their star indigenous players miss an entire finals series or go completely against their own precedence for punishments of the same act.
Jon Ralph the little league lickspittle floating this BS to soften the fallout when the league bottle it and offer 3 weeks so he can 'play in the grand final'.
If the AFL deliver a 3 week penalty (if he's guilty), it would be more offensive to the demographic they purport to be protecting than the offense itself.
They'll twist it dont worry. He wont be missing a GF.
I'd be okay with 4 too but 5 makes a real statement, not that it would have any difference to Rankine whether he got 4 or 5 at this stage.
Although they could always lose the first game of the qualifying final, which means 5 weeks means he's definitely out for the whole final series.
And that is why there is so much interest in this.... Missing the gf and him being indigenous is like a double reason for the AFL to make up a bullshit excuse.
I would hazard a guess that if he was non indigenous, he definitely misses the grand final. Because of his skin colour, he has a chance!!!
