two things:

1. how enthusiastic would u be to attend a game if u were in a demons fans position?

2. despite the talk the crowd really wasnt that terrible for their standards....specially in the 4th, when they got within 10 points, i was sitting in M6, and I could hear them

Was a very good turnout by the bombers fans. I thought they'd struggle to break 41-42k. I wasn't there or didn't see it on television but how many dees would there have been? I know earlier in the year there was 46k at a blues vs dess match, which I thought was high and even in the 2 Hawks vs Dees games there were 41-42k which is a bit higher than I expected, I thought at the games I've seen this year, especially at the dome the Dees fans have gone missing, is it possible there are a few more of them than they get credit for but they are just a little quiet. Obviously the 21-23k they got both times against the roos kind of blows that theory out of the water. On a more serious note I think the crowd really shows that the Dons fans have regained confidence in Knights and are excited by the brand of footy his team is playing.

I thought it was a great turnout by the Ess faithful. I was a little surprised by the final figure, I wasn't expecting more then 40K.
Our crowd figure was bigger then the Geel v Rich game on Sat night.

At least 90% Ess, me thinks. :thumbsu:

I think there were 46,334 people there.

I mentioned to my mate (a Dees fan) that the 46 must have been the Essendon fans and 334 must have accounted for his lot.

Yeah that's what I counted from my seat in the second level of the Northern...;)

I thought it was a pretty good crowd really, would have been about 75% bombers supporters but I don’t blame the Dees supporters, there isn't a lot of incentive to go and watch the potential 16th loss of the year in forecasted pissing rain??

I thought it was a good result considering that there were only an extra 10K at the Hawks V Magpies game the night before, for two teams who have finals aspirations and the 'supposed' magpie drawing power, I’d give the win to the bombers for most drawing power for the weekend.

It was a good crowd.

How many would you have expected for a game against Port or Freo?

Given that 40,000 of the fans would have been supporting Essendon, a game against any other Victorian team would have been 55k+

It was a good crowd under the circumstances.

I didnt get there as my daughter was unwell, and I know of another 8 people that had planned to go and were unwell.

My 2 neices are demons supporters and go every week, if all their members were like them they wouldnt be in any trouble. The problem with Most melbourne supporters is that footy is not a passion its a hobby whilst waiting for better snowfalls. Weekend skiing was good so very few D's there.:D
