Mate, if I ever lived in Vic, I would go to every game (in saying that I lived in Tas for 25years until 6 weeks ago, now I live in Port Hedland)... Please don't hold it against me...

what i liked most was not only the crowds loyalty to the bombers but when lloyd took that hanger and kicked the goal everyone rose. great to see everyone behind him and know that he is still so important to the essendon side regardless of what shithead reporters might say. would have been even cooler if the crowd started a "lloydy lloydy" chant like the old days... but aaaahh well. if i were down in melbourne i would have been there tonight, i was proud of the guys and happy to hear the song again. well done!

Essendon v West Coast on a friday night in may/june at the Dome is like Anzac Day for me now

It doesnt matter where both clubs are, we always seem to pull out something special for the occasion, and/or something controversial happens

It doesn't really Dave we had 33000 when we are winning we are around 45000.

For those that went well done we need to take the good times with the bad. If we lost 20 in a row I would still go it doesn't come into consideration for home games. That's what footy is all about. Since the early 80's we have been a well run club so I see no problem in having faith that we are going in the right direction.

:thumbsu: I give props to the essendon supporters for the crowd last nyte, tremendous to see that even on an 8 game losing streak that they still got over 33,000 to a game against an interstate team, props for the loyalty shown by essendon fans which I have a growing respect for after the send off for arch in round 1 ;)

always some one with something negative to say.. yes, NOT surprisingly we didn't get 45,000 there like we used to in the glory days of 2000! BUT we did get 33K there.. on a cold, wet miserable night when we are playing a dodgy interstate side, after an 8 game losing streak etc etc etc.. some clubs (melb/doggies/stkilda/richmond/carlton/geelong/freo/north/hawthorn) would be estactic to get that crowd.. and I presume so would the EFC.. 40,000 members.. we are a powerhouse of the comp.. and some of the most loyals fans in the business.. awesome job guys..

before the game.. i had joined in the debates about whether winning or draft picks is better in the long run.. give me the chance to go home on the train with my scarf waving, still singing the song.. priceless.. i will never want our club to do a carlton.. i never want to see the guys lose the pride of the red sash.. and neither should our supporters.. we are all in this together.. GO BOMBERS!!

It's not negative just a fact. When we are winning not just in 2000 in most other years we get 45000, when we are down and losing we get 33000 which is a fair drop. Good for the 33000 to turn up yes, but where were the other 12000 -(not going well this year, might lose again I won't go to the football). So jump down off your high horse there.

ok i'll get down off my high horse when you actually READ a post before making a comment.. OF COURSE you are going to get more supporters to a game when you are winning.. it would be absolutely STUPID to suggest that crowds will turn up i the same number for 14 vs 15 as they would for 1 vs 2!!! So the other 12,000.. as mentioned, it might be a drop in WCE supporters (2000), a drop in corporate/2nd level toffs (5000) and a drop in walk up crowd (5000).. so in my opinion.. a drop off of only 5000 supporters on a cold wet night with the team sitting bottom four again, with no realistic expectation of a high quality match.. i think you would say that is a reasonable thing to happen..

of course I would love for some supporters not to be so fickle but realistically when tigers/carlton/melbourne are doing bad.. they had crowds of less than 20,000 turning up.. so this thread was about the positives.. that we keep turning up, in force, to support our team and I just love it..

so actually when i think about it, I'm just going to ride my high horse all the way to the MCG to see us beat judd, whoops i mean carlton, again!!
