How is this possible - if he received a ban, then it was determined he was required to pay the money. How did he get away with not?
What do you mean he got 'comps equivalent'?
FFS ash you're even more argumentative than me. Explain it very slowly to me what the problem is. 1st guy says all-in and pushes some chips forward. Explain to me what he did wrong or what angle he was pulling. Do you really think if someone is all-in they absolutely have to push 10, 20, 30, 40 stacks of chips into the middle? REALLY? Is that really what you are suggesting? I would have done no different, but I always make eye contact with the dealer so I know they heard my bet. If the dealer heard me, and repeats "All-in to call" as I push out just a couple stacks, and some dick head says "Call" without hearing what the bet is, bad luck to the idiot.
Basically, he has stiffed me in a bet that has been in arrears since Round 15? 2010. He owed me 3 cartons of beer (I had paid him when I was 1 down overall a few weeks prior) and we had all of it on the Essendon vs West Coast game at Docklands were LeCras kicked 12, with IIRC two on the match and one on the line were we had a 4 goal head start.
So while trying, I havent managed to talk to him since every comment comes with the "Im working on it" tag.
Yes, if you just suddenly rage-quit and scooped up your cash and stood up to leave, they would not be able to strip you of the money, and while they can ban you, they cant force you to pay the money
Did he look anything like this ash?
But seriously, why would you bet beers with someone you presumably know only through the casino? Unless you were betting the value of the slabs seems like it's always going to be a hard bet to collect on.
Having someone owe you at the casino is not a good feeling.
Reminds me of a while ago an AFL player (very recently retired) owed a semi-reg $500 he had (stupidly imo) lent to him at the casino previously. He had apparently tried to collect the debt a few times and been fobbed off after even threatening to ring his manager iirc.
Finally he had had enough and when he saw the player again at the casino he noticed that the players car-keys were next to his chip-stack. He picked up the players keys and said you can pay me before you go and walked back to his table.
He eventually got paid in a pretty aggressive manner by one of the player's friends.
Pretty funny story.
Hey Woomera Skp, did the guys who you lost these hands to happen to be Russian?. I think I know someone who might know what happened

how can you compare computer generated cards to live action? as i've said, happy to lose money if i actually can see it for real...
woomera, you showed probably the best discipline i've ever seen, to just get up and walk away after these extreme bad beats... thats a great effort mate...
sometimes its just not your night.. good and bad things usually happen all at once... i would've continued playing pontoon, you were on a roll, even thou its all luck, you should'nt have walked away... lol
1) $80-$200 $1/2 NLHE you'll get a seat quickly except Friday/Saturday nightbetween 10-12.
2) I would bring at least 2 decently sized buy-ins so min of 2 x $150 = $300. You don't want to let one suck out ruin your experience.
3) the standard is terrible so don't worry. Just make sure you know when it's your turn to act and you'll be fine.
Good luck. Try and get to the casino about 7pm Saturday for max inexperienced players.
i wouldn't worry too much about the standard.
you just gotta remember people haven't left their homes for several hours to come to the casino and just fold. the vast majority are there to gamble and they will, so you can't let yourself get tilted when you get beaten by a guy who calls your 6 x BB raise with 68o etc,.
No time fee for $1/2 afaik, but the rake is pretty heavy and you'll definitely notice it if you play a lot. That and people playing really short make it a tough game to beat in the long run.
You can't tip the dealer but you can tip waiters. Trust me you won't want to tip 90% of them because the service is that bad.
As far as etiquette goes, just know that if you are the last aggressor in a hand you turn your hand over first, and if you call and have the best hand, turn your hand over without a significant delay after having seen theirs. Also, don't talk about what you have/had whilst a hand is still in progress.
Play with what you can afford to lose and as b_t has said, don't get aggressive if some idiot makes some crazy move against you and ends up winning. Just have fun.
Let us know how you go.
