I am very highly amused when I watch TV and hear the Crows spokespersons saying Saturday's slow-down,(sorry, SHOW-down ) will be treated as a GRAND FINAL, are they using this as a method of keeping the interest of supporters, hoping they might?? improve next season??, come on,GRAND FINAL???

it seems your easily amused then....

i actually thought it might have been a play on words...by using the word "final" it may scare the living suit cases out of the PAPS! :p

honestly tho, dont live off every word you hear from clubs, its all just BS!

Erm?

Grand Final = Last game of the season.

Round 22 is our Grand Final - the fact we're playing Port raises the stakes even higher.

It's a well-worn cliche that all teams use at different stages.

I agree it sounds stupid and hate hearing it.

Thanks for sharing.

Do your eyes always roll upwards when you're "highly amused"?

Not even the most serially optimistic Hawthorn supporter will be calling their last game anything, but a relief this year. Unlike your sorry playgroup, we at least still have the interest of our supporters and the game will be supported accordingly. Hawthorn will be lucky to attract anyone to see them get blown off the park again. Although Ronald McDonald handing out those free Happy Meal vouchers from the coaches box doesn't hurt.

they get amused every week
Dermie is on the radio with his "expert comments"
and on TV with that great hair

and the Dunstall comes on with that great Personality of his

and probably the funniest thing is that their coaching search is more embarrassing than ours was

Add to that there Captain contiunes to be more commited to becoming a TV star than actually playing decent footy, he has to make a TV show about himself and tell the nation he wasnt sure if he was gay.

I also think the large variety of hairdo's must keep the supporters 'bemused' they have players running around looking like cockatoo's, well mmmmmmmm I guess you could associate that with the HFC ;)

The slow down is something completely different http://mcfoundation.org.au/default.asp

you should send a donation then at least you'd have made one positive contribution to humanity.

"treated as a GRAND FINAL" not IS a Grand Final. Using this to motivate the players so they don't finish the season with a whimper.

Schwab predicted Hawthorn would win the GF in 2004.
Ayres predicted Adelaide would finish top 4 in 2004.

Schwab was wrong by 15
Ayres was wrong by 8 (arguably with help from Craig)

Both of them were sacked during 2004. Obviously ex-Hawthorn players have faulty crystal balls :)

Hawks lossed to Essendon in the 2001 Prelim final. It's been a pretty dramatic fall!

Hawks only made it to the Prelim in 2001 because Port choked the week before at AAMI...... there I've finally used that word :(

You're not wrong there!

What the hell was with trading two of the hottest young KPPs in the land (Croad/McPharlin) for the pick that became Luke Hodge?
