Mark Robinson from the Herald Sun thinks Sloane deserves a nomination for his effort against Geelong. I think it will be between him and Essendon's Travis Colyer. I get the feeling Colyer will get it unfortunately.

watched the bombers match... id say sloane would have the stat won easilyContested Possessions comparison?
Would've through Sloaney would be ahead there. Not having seen Colyer play though.
apparently not...Colyer had 9 cont. poss to Rory's 6 this week. Still placing my hopes for Rory on his slightly more good games and 2 crunch goals.

Although Colyer was one of the Dons best (not many were 'good'), the Dons lost. Sloane's two goals particularly the match winner at the end in addition to a number of solid contested possessions should earn him the nod. It's going to be close between Rory and Colyer. As you can see, they have similar figures, with Colyer's averages a little higher in the important disposals area. But Rory has played 9 games to Colyer's 6, so his totals are better. On balance, that plus his 2 goals in a crunch match will give it to Rory. I hope so, anyway.

* That hitout must have been that 3rd man up in the last quarter, Friday. How awesome was that leap and hit!
EDIT: Adams of the Roos is 22 - not eligible.

It's official: Phil Davis is the Round 16 AFL Rising Star!
Well done, Phil.![]()

Why isn't Martin on that list? Is he too old for the rising star award?
Yeah - too old. Otherwise he would have been a good chance for his game on the weekend.
Wonder if Jaensch or Sloane will get the nod this week. Not sure if there were any standouts in the other games though. Morabito maybe. Is Jared Grant eligible or is he too old?
Greenwood played 11 games last year, so no nomination for him.Levi Greenwood. had a fantastic game with 39 possessions. hasn't been nominated before and turned 21 in February this year.![]()

that's unfortunate to miss by 1 game. i have no idea who will win it then. Shuey played well, but in a losing side. Daniel Stewart is also too old. Jaensch was solid, but no standout. Ellard was alright.oh ok, thanks for that.Uhh guys, Morabito got this weeks nom...
