State pride will be once again on the line as the Crows tackle the 36ers in the 2006 Yellow Corporation Basketball Challenge. The ‘Sixers’ will be out for redemption following their one-point loss in the previous encounter in 2004.

With the scores tied at 69-points apiece, Andrew McLeod cooly nailed the winning free throw to give the Crows a famous victory in the 2004 Challenge. With their reputations at stake there is no doubt the 36ers will come out firing and look to regain the Hudson Maher Memorial Cup.

The charity game is sure to feature some dazzling dunks, the usual shenanigans and plenty of entertainment from all players who take to the court.

The day will kick off at 2pm with the Crows ‘Old Stars’ taking on the 36ers ‘Legends’. This will be followed by the main event – The Crows v 36ers at 3pm.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Hudson Maher Foundation.

Where: 36ers Dome
Time: Old stars game – 2pm / Main game - 3pm
Tickets:Adults - $10.00 / Children - $5.00 / Family - $25.00 (plus booking fee)

If you are going to the Distinctive Dome tomorrow, just wear your undies  coz tonight it was absolutely stinking hot and unbearable (didn't help with a full house). I can't remember in all the years being a Sixers season ticketholder having worse playing and spectator conditions!

I was just going to post something along the same lines Kirky

Last night at the Dome the Air-Con was broken (and I doubt they would have fixed it last night or this morning).

With it being another 41 Degrees day and no air working at the Dome I am not sure if it is a good idea to go, we were contemplating going down as the Hudson Maher foundation is a great charity that should be helped but I think we will give it a miss this year.

Way to hot.

I was going, but this heat has put me off. Now hearing about the broken aircon - definately staying indoors. Plus the cricket and tennis are on. :D

Miss Nikki can tell us about it though, I know she is going.

Hi guys, just a quick review of the games yesterday as I went with my son. I got there late so I only caught about 15mins of the first game.
The first game was the old Crows v old 36ers Didnt know any of the 36ers but for us there was D. Jarman, Bickley, Weed, Jamieson, Rowie and Cornsey. We were very competitive but the sixers were all class and one by only 1 point. (I think the sixers were being kind)
The main game saw Mcleod as our captain alongside McGreggor, Skippy (he wore the afro wig), Meason, Boof Lehmann and some of the new recruits; Bollaido, Obst, Maric and BVince(he is going to be a cult figure to a lot of the young girls) and Benny Hudson on the sidelines. Also in the stands were Van Berlo, Knightsey and some others who I didnt recognise. Jars and A 36er (not too sure who he was) umpired so you can guess the cheating that was going on. At one stage the sixers were getting about 10 points for each basket. The basketball was used most of the time but occasionally the football made an appearance and there were kicking, tackles and all sorts going on. There were kids games at halftime and there were also player comps at half time. These included dohnut eating comp which we won but had the points taken off us and the boys were made to do push ups. At one stage the sixers went off and it was the dancing girls v the crows (all of the boys wanted to participate at this stage, I wonder why?) Anyway all in all it was a great few hours entertainment even though it was a little hot (supposed to be airconditioned) in the stadium. Got a go, getting hasled by my 9yo to play crows monopoly.

They all played pretty well there were no real standouts. Skippy and Huddo at one stage took McGreggors top off (didnt look too happy about it) and tried to score a point with it. They were definately the ******** stirrers of the lot. Also in the stands were Van Berlo, Knightsey and some others who I didnt recognise. Couldn't agree more. Although it was 35 outside, that felt nice and cool after the game - heaven knows what the temp was inside.

Although it was a big crowd, was it as big as what the ticket sellers were saying it was? Through some poor planning (I got the start time off Fox forgetting that their times were AEDST) we got there 15 minutes before tip off and told 'single seats only' - yet we found an entire row of seats 5 minutes before the game in the middle of the South Rear stand (not complaining about the better seats - but I'm sure somebody's still doing cooking the books there still).

Everyone except macca who went and sat on the bench. Probablby due to his missus and kids was sitting in the crowd watching.

Biggest crowd I reckon for about 4-5 years.
