Had JJ kicked straight we would have been leading by a couple of goals.

7th place up for grabs

I don't really get this argument. There's no guarantee that you'll get the second shot on goal if you nail the first one anyways. Whereas the second shot on goal is a result (directly or indirectly) from the first miss.

how many one step kicks have to be stuffed up before we realize they are a massive part of our turnover strategy?

Bulldogs intensity and tackle pressure drops off and we are back in the game.

We really need to learn how to deal with hard tackling (mauling) game a lot (most) of clubs are now employing. This is a fundamental problem. My first suggestion would be to lift the arms once you are about to be tackled. Danger is a master at it. He needs to teach the rest of the boys.

Seriously - are you people watching the footy?? Reilly has easily been in our best.

His two errors came on the forward wing... Has used the footy well. Was very solid defensively.....

Having a much better game than one of our Captains in Sloane.
sure, if trying to mark a high ball from 2m behind your opponent is solid defense

I'm amazed. The first quarter and a half we were pathetic. The last 10 minutes of the second quarter we were much better, and for a game I thought was all over after the first 10 minutes, we're somehow only 4 points behind.

Problem is every other time we've fought back from a decent deficit this year we've ended up being blown out of the water, so I hope like hell that doesn't happen today, and if we do hit the lead, we don't stop.

The problem with the first 3 games, was our opposition have been quality opponents. The Dogs are good, but not in the class of the 3 teams to beat us this year. If we're making finals, we're winning today

lose this and well......

I think most on here thought the game was over.

Job is half done, massive third qtr.

Jenkins' goal kicking is at crisis proportions now. Everything about it makes me angry and there is not a single part of his routine that could be described as technically beneficial in anyway.

It is, in fact, the complete opposite, and the textbook example of absolutely everything you SHOULD NOT BE DOING when kicking for goal at any level. From the spinning of the ball to make sure he doesn't hold it the same way twice, the way he takes off immediately into a 50% sprint towards the goals, how he presents his left shoulder to the goals so his right leg needs to swing around his body, the way he waves the ball around like a bomb only slightly less than the amount of bobbing his head is doing, it's a miracle he even kicks a behind 90% of the time.

I fear it's been this way for so long that by the time someone reaches out to him to actually fix it, it will be more mental than technical.

If not for some shocking decisions in their favour in front of goal we'd be up now.

The Jaensch holding the ball was the by product of an absurd 'not 15' call. They pay marks that go half that distance.
Went easily at least 20 metres. He was half way up the 50.
