Jenkins' goal kicking is at crisis proportions now. Everything about it makes me angry and there is not a single part of his routine that could be described as technically beneficial in anyway.

It is, in fact, the complete opposite, and the textbook example of absolutely everything you SHOULD NOT BE DOING when kicking for goal at any level. From the spinning of the ball to make sure he doesn't hold it the same way twice, the way he takes off immediately into a 50% sprint towards the goals, how he presents his left shoulder to the goals so his right leg needs to swing around his body, the way he waves the ball around like a bomb only slightly less than the amount of bobbing his head is doing, it's a miracle he even kicks a behind 90% of the time.

I fear it's been this way for so long that by the time someone reaches out to him to actually fix it, it will be more mental than technical.

Had JJ kicked straight we would have been leading by a couple of goals.

7th place up for grabs

Dan my Aunty had balls she would be my Uncle

Let's not discount that WB missed couple of sitters

Turn overs killed us, if we remove this we remove their main scoring opportunity

Let's not forget that Holding the Ball against Hartigan was just bullshit

Seriously - are you people watching the footy?? Reilly has easily been in our best.

His two errors came on the forward wing... Has used the footy well. Was very solid defensively.....

Having a much better game than one of our Captains in Sloane.
Haha did you miss when he tried to mark instead of punch and his spud opponent took an uncontested mark.

It's settled Reilly is the worst 200 game player of all time and I would prefer if he didn't even play with the state league I would hate his sort of "experience" to infiltrate our young players. Please Sub him off Sando for my mental health.

We are close at half time simply because the Bulldogs couldn't maintain the intensity they started with.
Our decision making is appalling.

That's been a massive problem this year with our turnovers.

We are the turnover kings in the AFL. We are leading in this stat.

I would settle for any recognised forward who had ever played the game at any level, ever, at this point. I've had enough of midfielders coaching our forwards how to play.

AFC979810 is correct, everyone else is wrong about Brent Reilly and his brilliant game today.

:thumbsu:

You are such a passive aggressive negative poster. What has Reilly done today to be dropped?

A kick off the side of the boot under pressure on the wing? There have been so many more errors by class players that hurt us much more (Talia/Danger/Sauce).

Has 11 posessions (8 kicks) at 91% DE. Took a contested mark that saved a goal and won two other crucial 1on1 contests inside defensive 50 that saved us a goal.

Laird, Sloane, Betts, Smith, Brown, Jaensch have not played as well as Reilly today.

He needs to Stevie J everything. Play on and snap. Tippett should have adopted that technique also.

Forward coaches, my apologies. I thought you boys were talking about goalkicking coaches.

I'll have Tredders as a forward coach. As long as he isn't goalkicking coach. Give that job to Nutter.

We have done some poor things so far, but shouldn't underestimate how well the Bulldogs have played in patches throughout the first half.

Pods, Jenkins and Lynch are collectively dangerous up forward. Thompson & Dangerfield providing the firepower in the middle, and Jacobs is now winning the All-Australian head to head against Minson. Wright doing for us what Stevens is for the Dogs. Talia providing some new-found thrust from half back, and Hartigan has done some very good things in the the second part of that quarter after a shocker first two minutes. Just need Sloane & Smith to continue getting into the game.

Has been most of the year.
If we can snatch the lead and kick back to back goals that could break them.

Remember Blues kicked 6 goals in the last ten minutes at the dome.

We are well and truly in it, but this game does highlight some key issues with our side. Can't handle tackling pressure, and poor decision making.

Just watching the replay of that Hartigan free. There is something seriously wrong that it can be paid as holding the ball. In what world does throwing your arms out to prove you're not holding the ball, constitute not making a genuine attempt? It's 100% clear at that point that you are not holding the ball, and it's being held to you. How can you dispose of it when you're not the one technically in possession of it? Would they pay a mark to Hartigan if the ball ended up on his chest with someone else holding it? And if Hartigan decides to humour to ump by theatrically trying to punch the ball even though everyone knows it's going nowhere, then it's ok?

I know they've been paying it for years, and if a player has prior opportunity, that's fine. But in this case it's just wrong.

Absolute farce of an interpretation imo.
