Surprised there isn't a thread on this yet, holy crap I am loving it. Far and away the most stylish game I've played in years. Not sure I have ever derived so much joy simply from the art of a game. Gameplay is solid obviously, and nicely challenging.

Suffers from being a Xbox console exclusive on a very pro PS4 board. Was following this one and it looks damn good. Will get it when I starting inevitability drifting away from Destiny 2

Went to purchase yesterday but the store was having issues. I'll get onto it if i can get on the Xbox without jumping straight into Fortnite Battle Royale.

Animation and art looks incredible. Been hyped for this since it was first revealed.

Yeah I got it for the same reason I bought Rayman legends back in the day-love the presentation and artistic side of it. still yet to play it though

I've been waiting for this game since it was lodged in an indie sizzle reel at E3 years ago.

It seems pretty damn good based on the first few sections, but I took a break after a while.

The game plays a lot better once you remap a few of the controls, or at least it did for me.

Beat it today, took me about 5 hours all up (I need to git gud)

Awesome fun, bosses that gave me the most trouble were Calamari Lady (took forever to work out I could just get myself frozen on stage 2 and break free) and the Bee boss (I got very easily mindflooded from the climbing missiles)

Fantastic game but I'm glad it is over; no more staying up late, swearing at cartoon characters and failing the same way, over and over. As good as it felt to FINALLY win, the game was just a bit too far outside my difficulty threshold. Good on it for making me coming back, it wasn't just down to the wonderful presentation. Was harsh but fair all up I reckon.

Yeah the Bumblebee can get ****ed. She makes a stupid noise everytime you start that level, riled me up before I'd even begun. Think the penultimate boss was the one I spent the most time on, but then most of them bashed the shit out of me.

Hah, wow! Clearly you had a fair bit more frustration than me!

Really think the difficulty is being overstated by most, seeing a lot of streamers etc who aren't exactly renowned for being good at difficult games get through without too much hassle.

Point of reference - recently played Super Mario World and died on very first enemy... I swear that game was a pushover back in high school!

I get what you're saying - even if I did struggle with this game far more than anything I've played in the last year or so. It's easy to control and there's not many inputs to worry about. I've watched a couple of streams as well, and competent players aren't doing anything that a poor player like myself can't do in isolation (compared to something like street fighter 5, and watching a pro execute a lengthy combo at the correct moment. Almost impossible for a player of my skill level).

After a few tries on each boss' form, it's usually clear what you're supposed to be doing.

My main problems were a lack of patience (getting greedy, trying to land extra hits when I KNEW it wasn't possible), and not taking failures well (letting my mistakes weigh on my mind, getting angry and not learning from them).

And, like Jpw22511, found it hard to avoid 3 or 4 obstacles at the same time. The bullet hell bits weren't so bad (as you kind of look at those parts as a maze), but bullets would often, somehow, slip my mind if I was concentrating on avoiding something else. Even if I'd done that part multiple times before!

But yeah, speaking to other people who enjoy shooting games like this or still play a lot of older games, it's not like it's merciless or anything.

Not sure if you've remapped the controls - but I found putting Shoot to the right trigger, and the Stand Still button to left trigger made a big difference.

Also if you've unlocked it - the dash where you disappear for half a second move is worth equipping. Think it's called Smoke Bomb or something.

Other than that, I found walking away from the game after 30 minutes or so helped - cleared the mind, instead of getting so wound up, failure after failure. Easier said than done though.

I want to play this. It is on my wishlist but I need to wait until I’m less busy with other stuff. I didn’t know about it until this thread and since then have seen heaps of stuff come up about it on my FB feed.

Anyway, I just saw this and thought you guys might like it
