Words cannot express how absolutely disgusted I am at the bunch of ****ing soft arseholes that are wearing our jumper.

Until they learn to...

1) Play football at an AFL level
2) Play with a bit of heart and pride

...then they can all get ****ed.

I have never been this appalled by a team in my life.

I might just set a record for the highest blood alcohol level ever recorded tonight.

Only way to forget about the fact that I support a spineless bunch of pretenders.

i just don't know how to feel. the only thing that makes me feel happy is cale morton.

Why would anyone want to go to the ground to watch that crap - your Title sums up the first 2 weeks perfectly although I don't blame the players as much as I blame Bailey - he is out of his depth

im numb. had a great feelin at the start of the match after seeing Sylvia tear aggressivly through the banner and then getting it into our forward line quickly... but by the end of the game i was just praying we weren't gonna go down by over 100 again!

Im with you dutchy12, if it wasnt for some great signs i saw in morton id be through my whole bottle of jacks now and not just half

Bailey can only do so much.

It's up to the players to deliver the results on the field.

Missing simple targets by hand and foot, putting teammates under pressure with stupid 1m handballs, not protecting teammates, hanging on to the ball for too long and then being forced to avoid a tackle instead of kicking the ****ing thing down to the forward line...

I believe the errors are coming because the player with the ball has no idea what he is supposed to do and that is a problem with the team understanding the game plan (if there is one) - that IS Bailey's area - this bunch of players were a regular finals team under Daniher - so what has changed?

He may have instructed them to handball and run out of the backline, but I don't reckon he told them to give it to teammates under pressure, or to run straight into three opposition tacklers.

Any half decent footballer who takes a mark should be able to assess whether or not his running teammate is in a good position to receive the ball (ie. does he have space, or is an opponent next to him?)

And likewise, any running footballer should be able to decide whether or not he has some space to run forward to, before asking for a handball receive.

But have a look at where the team mates are standing when a guy gets the ball - its as if we are playing as a bunch of individuals rather than as a team - everyone is expecting "the other guy" to do something - where are the players running past, or providing options up the ground and when someone is running past where is that players support - Im telling you, this game plan is %^&* hopeless

Weak as piss, all of them. Whoever the **** decides that Jace Bode and Colin Garland get games should be shot. The whole bloody team can go to hell if they keep dishing up that shit round after round.

without looking back at the stats... from memory Melbourne had a fairly ordinary side around 1996? how does this team compare that one?

First things first - Mods, please merge all these threads.

The only thing i can say is i'm not sure if i'm embarrassed, angry, despondent or what, but I wouldn't care if we got smashed, as long as we actually played like we gave a shit. Did you see the footage of the boys warming up at half time? No-one was talking, revving eachother up...just looked like we wanted to get it over with.

And what was the crowd? Looked to be about 20,000 - simply awful for our first home game of the year.

Oh, and looks like Davey's out for a while....joy.

27-28,000 if memory serves...

I doubt davey is out for that long. I had the plugs in the ears during the game and Triple M said it was big toe injury, so I couldn't imagine it keeping him out for THAT long.

As someone who as a soft spot for the Melbourne footy club, I'm wondering are they really that bad or is there a deeper problem for I would have expected Melbourne to have made a fighting effort instead they appear to be playing with no heart.

Davey looked like he was holding his shin/ankle.
If its his measely big toe then I will be disgusted. Hopefully he misses the season
