Best tackler we have had in our team for a very long time. For his build there are none better in the AFL. So many times this season I have thought a player will be able to get away from his grip and been wrong.
He is 5th in our team in total tackles behind Ball, Swan, Pendles, Toovey, but he is by far much more effective with them. IMO this has been one of his biggest assets this season, his pressure and pace is just brilliant. His name should be in the mix for AA this season.

Yep, he's always been a great tackler!

Here is a short video of some of his tackles. All of them pre-2009 to show that he isn't, and never has been, "soft" as some people wrongly believe:

His desperation is fantastic and you will always see him running and putting pressure on the opposition. I think it was last week that Dale put a Geelong player under pressure in the goal square, which caused him to rush his kick, which then resulted in a Collingwood goal.

It's the little things like that that go unrecognised. Keep it up Dale!:):thumbsu:

I've always thought that tackling was a skill that you couldn't really perfect unless you were a "natural" at it, and Daisy has been a great tackler ever since his under 18 days, and probably even before that.

It really is about how you position your body, and how you use your arms to "wrap" the player up, rather then just grabbing at them.

The year he spent as a defensive forward last year probably made him focus on tackling even more, just perfecting the high level of skill he already had.

No doubt, when it comes to tackling, Daisy may well be the pound for pound champ. (Cyrol Rioli is the only other slight bodied player who comes to mind).

He also releases his whole body weight upon the tackled player very quickly which brings them down as they try to run off with his extra 80 kg's on their back. As Bert Newton said to Mahammad Ali "I like the boy!"

Great tackler. Maxwell and Goldsack are our two strongest though I'd say.

Totally agree.

Daisy's pretty darn close AA off the bench I reckon. Only problem is that Didak, Swan and Harry are AA and we all know how everyone hates Collingwood AA's.

Slayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha, hell yeah!:D Piece by Piece was chosen by me because, as the title of the song suggests, Dale takes the opposition apart piece by piece.:thumbsu:

Had to stop the video 15 seconds in. Music. No good.

Daisy's tackling? Very good.
LOL, you're obviously not a metal fan. That band and the album that it is off is one of the greatest metal albums ever made.

You can mute the video if you don't like it.

i love the first tackle he does on the swans players , one before kennely.

pretty much waits for the swans guy to move after he makes him prop, then lunges for him after he knows which way hes going.

1986...what a year for metal...Master of Puppets, Reign in Blood, Somewhere in Time, Pleasure to Kill (a personal fav), Peace Sells....ahh the memories...and Wes Fellows gets the Copeland?

It's not just his tackling which is brilliant, it's his also his harrassment of the opposition players which is fantastic.

Not only that, but he recovers quickly from the tackles, he constantly makes repeat efforts.
