Would be a great get for us, adds pace, flair and line breaking ability to an otherwise slow and stagnant midfield. Would also come "free" and give supporters something to at least feel good about after a year from hell.

I seriously doubt it would happen though and I suspect Rucci is just playing one of his petty jokes.

Rucci wouldnt know anything. No one speaks to him. So unless Caro or someone threw him the bone, I'd say he's just making it up based on Thomas being available and Adelaide needing someone like him and nothing more.

I wouldn't have any problem with the club offering a signing bonus at the front of the right players contract to get them here. I think thats the hard part, keeping a player at that age would be easier.

We will have $1.6 million spare next year (providing we are front loading Kurts 800k into current players contracts this year). You have to use it on something. You can't do nothing with it because we have to use a certain percentage of the salary cap.

As much as we all don't want to agree we need to throw big dollars at some one like daisy to give fans & members some hope after the last 4years with tippet, Davis, bock, gunston & Armstrong all walking out. Not hope in we have signed a player who is going win games for the club cause daisy isn't that much of a star. But it's something to show fans players do want to play for Adelaide & what better than signing a star of the biggest club in the afl & a vic power house. As lame as that all sounded I would throw mega $$$ to bring a Daisy, Harry O or even a Eddie Betts.

We need to spend the money on players who will make a difference. Players who can lift the team on their shoulders. Thomas is a great player, he showed that in the Grand Finals but he is the icing on a cake we don't have.

With question marks over Swan, Thomas (who looks like Collingwood has kids to cover his spot) and Harry O, I think we have the cash to shake one loose.

Swan has horse racing connections to Adelaide and has been seen hanging out with Bernard while here. We can start agitating now as is a FA after next year.

Thomas can see the writing on the wall and will play for cash.

Harry O..... well, I think his snag side has got him undone. Fresh start in order. Pies might be willing to let him go to avoid future personality clashes with Bucks.

Even if we start shaking the tree some other low lying fruit might fall.

If we have to pay overs for Thomas then do it. Anybody who doesn't think he'd slot into our midfield wonderfully well is kidding themselves. The chance to add a player of Thomas' class without having to give up anything other than salary cap will not come around often.

Can't see it happening though. I'm with Alex in thinking he'll either be at Carlton next year, or remain at Collingwood.
