This kid is sensational. And I am now wishing we took him instead of Murphy.
Dont get me wrong, I love Murph, and I know what patential he has, but with all biasism aside, Thomas is good 'now', and he aint going to stop.

Thats because you, like i am, are bias. Majority of Carlton supporters will say the same as you have, or say in another three years look out.

Yeah, you hate him, because who he plays for, If we did take him and the pies took Murpf, you would most likely hate Murph..

Dale would have done me just fine.

check back at the end of the year. Thomas will still be as good as he is now, but our Murph will be something else!

No I hate him for who he is. Like Pettifer everything he does on the field, from the way he looks to the way he struts bugs me. If he played for us I would hope someone would knock some sense into him
Give me Murph or EddieB - honest blokes getting in and having a go.

You are hoping, I am hoping.. LIke I say, Thomas wont go backwards either.

Just watching the game on tv now, and as I type this he has just taken another screamer in the goal square and booted another goal....
 
I am not denying that the kid has got talent - he clearly does as do most of our boys.
BUT I still hate him. Not because I am jealous, not because he plays for the Filth but because he is Dale Thomas. The package says it all!

Not sure you can mean this. Don't think this would even change the way Hoops plays his footy and Thomas is 3 times the player. He's just what we need tearing up a HFF alongside Eddie. But if it was at the cost of Murph I think I would pass.

sure, thomas looks flashier and to many better, but last year murph copped a heavy tag as he was our best mid week in week out. thomas just gets to run free along the wing and snap goals. both good players but im happy with murph
 
Thomas is a good player, don't get me wrong, but he has peaked much before Murphy which I see as his biggest problem. Murphy is much better at finding the ball and is more, what's the word... magical than Dale.

Check back at the end of the year, Thomas will be playing finals Murphy will not:p

In all seriousness these threads are just crap, Thomas and murphy will both become superstars. I'm happy with thomas just as Carlton are happy with Murphy.

What makes you think Thomas has already peaked in his third year of AFL?

It's more of an assumption.

Thomas has been playing better quality football than Murphy in the last couple of years (debatable) and looks to be giving it his all out there. I just can't see him giving anymore than he already does. Then again, i'm hardly a Collingwood supporter and I have no idea what's going on down at the Lexus Centre.:thumbsu:

Thomas is a gun player - no doubt. But he is the icing on the cake for a good side.

In the position Carlton were in (and still are) we needed some 'solid citizen' type players to build a team around liek Murphy. Thomas would be a waste of talent in the Carlton team at the moment.

Happy with our choice of Murphy at #1 - he will win a Brownlow one day.

Relax mate, its pretty easy to look good in a team that plays well together as often as Collingwood do. There has never been as much pressure on him to preform as much as Murphy's had on him. It's hard to pass judgment on Murph like that when he was injured for half a season followed by getting the no.1 tagger every week. Look at the first few game this year, hes been on fire. Not bagging Thomas at all but you can't say he's bettet then Murph yet.................. Plus Dale Thomas has a crap hairdo.
